For some reason it's fascinating to me when I'm at an event and we get started talking about the old days. Some fans jump on board and start talking and others just give you a clueless look.
I've been watching since 1982, toward the endowments of the territorial system days. Can remember vividly watching 10 or so wrestling programs just on Saturday and another 3 or 4 on Sunday.
As much as I miss those days, I k ow for a fact that the territorial system would not work today.
17 of my 21 years, ever since watching The Giant in WCW with my dad. As a 4 year old, seeing a man that size was fascinating to me. I was hooked. Been a fan ever since.
Just about 10 years. Sometime in 2003 it was shown to me. Became a weekly watcher by the beginning of 04 as I remember seeing Benoit win the rumble (via next nights raw), and that was basically solidifying Benoit as my favorite. From there I remember HBK/HHH feud, and the lead up to WM20.
By summerslam 2004 I was hooked, Orton vs Benoit got me. My two favorites at the time.
Late 90s i started watching WcW and WWF as a lil kid. I wasnt a religious follower obviously, i barely even knew what was goin on, but every time i caught wrestling i would watch it and love it. I remember a few things from WcW in late 1998/1999, with Goldberg n all the masked cruiserweights.
23 years, started on WCW episodes that were shown in the UK on late-night ITV programming (but apparently I used to pester my brothers to watch World of Sport with them in the early 80s)
About a year or so before the "Goldberg-era" in WCW. Quit from like 2006-2010 though
but I've caught up on probably some of the most boring years of wrestling that I skipped out on just for the sake of it..
I was a little too young to get the whole Steve Austin thing. To me he just always seemed like a villain. I trailed off during the merger (WCW and WWE) and in late 2009 I started watching again.
I got very interested since 1990. I bought action figures, trading cards, WWF magazines, but I couldn't watch the WWF TV shows until late 1992. I went nuts the first time I watched WWF Superstars.
Around the time when Nailz laid an almighty ass whoopin' on the Big Bossman, The Berzerker almost killed The Undertaker with his sword and Papa Shango made The Ultimate Warrior chuck his guts up. With TV like this, how could I not resist?
