Default Less Main Eventers...better show at times?

il give you examples, when austin and taker were injured back in 99-00 and austin and rock left in 2002, they were my fave months of wrestling, alot of people hated unforgiven 2002 till armageddon 2002 due to storyline etc but personally i liked it, brings out other stars, it went even better for the rock in 2000 especially

what yall think?

Yes, absolutely. We're seeing it now to a certain degree with cena on the shelf. Back in the day I felt that wrestlers were written off tv more often, whether because they were stale, injured, or otherwise, and it worked. It allows others to be elevated, new storylines and feuds to come about, and I course "absence makes the heart grow fonder" as they say. Some of the greatest moments are the pops that those wrestlers received when they returned. Even Cody Rhodes is gonna get a nice pop when he comes back from being written off tv

Gaps in the roster usually mean something fresh and new. Just as WWF were forced to elevate Austin, Foley and Rock after their established New Generation stars left or retired - Cena, Sheamus and Kane being gone means WWE have to put someone in their place. Hell, if not for Cena's injury in 2008, we might not have had the awesome Jericho WHC reign at center-stage on Raw for a couple of months.

I actually think Smackdown got worse when Undertaker and Batista came back a few years ago.

Sure.

During the whole brand PPV era, matches were alot more fresh with the wider variety of talent. It wasn't just the one decent undercard match and then the 4 or 5 main event gimmick matches. 2003 PPVs like Vengeance, Unforgiven , No Mercy, etc are all pretty good examples.

Oh, and your sig.
