Simple you had different writers, booking, and better quality superstars. Just don't make them like they used to anymore.

Re: If A Superstar Fails To Get Over On The Mic

Giving someone a manager can improve their mic skills, as they have someone who knows how that they can watch, plus they can work together before shows to try and build on the mic skills the wrestler already has.

Sending someone back to developmental doesn't always help, as the crowds at developmental shows are normally far tamer and smaller than your average raw crowd, so it isn't really preparing them for public speaking on the level they would need.

In some ways it does in other sports. And sure it might not help always Niether does having a manager. Sometimes the manager becomes more over than the talent.

This is exactly what I'm saying. If he couldn't wrestle he would've been nowhere. Even though his mic skills were non existent he still had a HOF career.

Oh and what's up with your post count? 22 posts per day? I know you're a banned re-reg but still. . . .

Re: If A Superstar Fails To Get Over On The Mic

There's a lot of people that have good mic skills like Wade Barrett for example... they just have problems getting over, it might be a character problem, some people just need repackaging.

Undertaker and Kane had Paul Bearer to talk for them.. You need to be able to talk to get yourself over so the fans can connect with you. You're forgetting WWE is entertainment. It's not pure wrestling... So yes, mic skills is very important.

Re: If A Superstar Fails To Get Over On The Mic

It's a tricky situation.

The actual wrestling takes a major backseat to promos & whilst that's not my personal preference, I can see why there is such a major focus on that aspect.

Pretty much every big name has been solid on the mic, bar a few guys that were exceptional wrestlers. Whilst sending them to NXT or wherever may seem a good idea at first, it could hinder them more than help.

Working alongside someone like Heyman can only help a guy's delivery but charisma can not be learnt. So I would say no, if they are not good on the stick, then accentuate their strengths, whatever they may be.

Re: If A Superstar Fails To Get Over On The Mic

Wrestling history is littered with phenomenally successful guys who were shit on the mic, it does not matter at all if you have the right character, gimmick and skill set.

Repackaged superstars doesn't solve the issue just slows down the inevitable results. Look at Fandango.

On the flip side, look at Bray Wyatt. Repackaged and is now the most exciting thing to happen to the WWE in recent memory (in mine and many other's opinion)

Longevity ..is the key. He just debut let's give him a year or two to see if he still will have that buzz. I wish him the best love his new gimmick!
