That promo that the Rock gave from his home when he called Cena a transvestite wonder woman is what he would have been facing every single week in the Attitude Era. I'm sorry but his "I'm here for you people" responses wouldn't of gotten it done.

Guy wouldn't of lasted a year back then, and never would of even sniffed a main event or world title

Cena as Thuganomics would've worked as a midcard heel...Punk would've worked IMO...there were smarks back then....hell Al Snow was over, and Steve Blackman for a time was

He would've been booed to shit but it would've worked...since most of RAW back then relied on storylines and less wrestling that fits perfect for Cena

Godfather could cut reasonably good promos and was more over then than anyone on the roster today, so...

The Wyatt family wouldn't have been taken seriously and they'd be used for comedy.

Back then WWE was stacked with great main eventers. Austin, Taker, Rock, Angle, Triple H, Foley. Plus strong mid carders like Jericho, Benoit, Shamrock, and Rikishi.

Punk, as a heel, could have been an upper mid carder. The concept of getting opportunities in kayfabe because you're exciting in the ring, have charisma, can talk well, etc. wasn't there. That was a big chunk of Punk's best material. But still, he'd have a job during the Attitude Era.

huh?

Punk is really the only guy that could hang with Austin/Rock on the current roster. Austin knows it.

maybe Wyatt could do something crazy with the Brothers of Destruction and feud with Mankind. I could see his character playing an interesting role in the AE for sure when gimmicks were at an all time high.

I could see heel Big E in the nation of domination (as an extra) for sure or maybe even R-Truth with his conspiracy gimmick being picked up by them or something.

Rollins definitely could have hung with the Hardys and Dudleys and Edge/Christian in the 2000's. I would choose Ambrose over Reigns for his partner though because Ambrose is use to all the crazy CZW bullshit and could probably get sent through 10 tables in a week like they were doing lol.

Out of everyone the only people I could see maybe "make it" in the AE are Punk and Wyatt. But as much as I hate to admit it and as big of a mistake it may have been at the time, heel Punk has the perfect character to just feed to Austin, so that may very well have just been the route they would take with Punk lol.

Well if we're gonna talk about the attitude era we gotta talk about the wrestlers lifestyles influencing their characters, a coked-up ziggler and orton might not have done bad back then.

I think the Wyatt family would have been lost in the shuffle in the AE. They are much better now because its so different and edgy.
