Default WWE needs a WCW brand split

The ECW stint on SyFy didn't work because it was nothing like the things that make the original ECW great. It couldn't have been, and that's why it failed.

Instead of Raw and Smackdown brand splits, do WWE and WCW. Make the World Heavyweight Title the WCW Title. One brand, WCW or WWE, can take the US Title and the other can take the Intercontinental. Maybe add Hardcore titles to each. Each brand has it owns Tag titles.

I guess for now PPVs would feature matches for both brands, for the WWE and WCW Titles. It would cool one day if they could each have their own PPVs, though.

WWE rename Smackdown to WCW Maybe Sting would sign with them then

If I was a billionaire I would buy WCW from Vince and do that.

But all in honesty, it would be smart for them to make people think they're watching a different promotion. It was obvious with the Raw and Smackdown brand split that it was all WWE. If you truly create a different brand like WCW it feels like competition, even though Vince profits from all of it. I think that's what they meant to do with ECW but there's a reason that didn't work. WCW was much more similar to WWE than ECW was.

Exactly what I'm talking about. The guy who wrote this article has good reasons, although he doesn't specifically mention naming one brand WCW: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...it-must-return

His 5 reasons for a new brand split:

- Too Many Titles (confusing to have WWE and World Titles; is US Title more prestigious than IC? etc.)

- Dream Matches Are Gone (Read the article for better description of this point)

- Overexposure (Ex. "Randy Orton has wrestled 44 times in less than six months, Daniel Bryan over 40 and Sheamus 42 times. As much flack as John Cena gets, he's only wrestled 16 televised matches this year. Compare that to a full-time midcarder like Billy Gunn. In 1998, Gunn wrestled 62 times the entire year.)

- Create New Stars (Ex. "You would have to go back to Hell in a Cell of Oct. 2010 to find a pay-per-view main event not involving John Cena, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar or HHH.")

- The Narrative Is Too Long (Ex. "A few years ago, someone could be a SmackDown or a Raw fan...Now, if you want to experience a full WWE story, you have to invest five hours a week instead of two.")

Even if it's not called WCW, I think they should create a storyline that a new wrestling promotion takes half the roster. You can call it something else, but maybe Shane or HHH or somebody will kayfabe start this promotion and bring some talent with them (even though WWE Inc. still gets all the profit). Again, I think they meant to do this with ECW but it didn't work out as I've mentioned above.

Don't you think is 12 years to late for that, if they were to do that the brand would have no actual ties to WCW, and besides the brand split is over.
