WWE wrestler Fandango's original dance partner is 20-year-old college student/dance instructor Andrea Lynn.
The Buffalo News (N.Y.) reported on Andrea's identity, noting that she heard from WWE last month that Creative decided to go with Summer Rae as Fandango's regular dancer. However, the door is still open for Andrea to return to WWE television.
"They didn’t cut me off like, ‘We don’t want you anymore,’” she said. “They could call me next week, they could call me next year.”
Andrea's interesting journey to WWE TV started when WWE called the Buffalo dance studio where she is an instructor looking for a dance partner for Fandango.
Andrea, who goes to college at the University of Buffalo, was only scheduled to appear one time, but WWE decided it was too much of a hassle to find a local dancer for each week's television. And, they thought she would be a good fit.
Andrea then re-arranged her college classes and dance studio schedule to travel to WWE television every week. She said that she was prepared to continue with WWE during the summer, but Creative told her in May that they were going with Summer Rae.
While on the road, she did homework on an iPad that WWE provided her on the road. Along the way, she mingled with WWE CEO Vince McMahon, The Rock, and John Cena, dressed in the Divas locker room, and met Diddy and Snooki at WrestleMania.
As for the "Fandango'ing" craze that popped up after WrestleMania, Andrea entered dance instructor mode, noting, "That’s not dancing, not at all." She added, "That’s not giving the ballroom world justice. I can teach people how to dance if they want to learn.”
Perhaps that will come on Dancing with the Stars, as her peers believe she has the ability and knowledge to appear on ABC's celebrity dance show. Coincidentally, WWE introduced the Fandango character to "tribute" or spoof DWTS, which would bring Andrea full circle after WWE stumbled upon her earlier this year to help pave the way for Fandango's rise to stardom.
