As for the topic, Russo made him 2 time WWE champion, his scripts where he turns on DX, turns heel, delivers the worked shoot "I am the game" promo. It was obviously that Russo decided that it was time for Triple H to join the main event scene and with Undertaker and Austin out of action for the next months it would be easier for him but sadly Russo left in the next months just when he started the Triple H main event heel project.
Like therock11 said, he became a top heel, main eventer under Russo and also a 2 time world champion. This is something most Russo bashers ignore claiming how he held Triple H down wich is bullshit because Russo was the guy who really gave everybody a chance. To be honest, nobody would give a fuck about him in 1999 and 2000 if he has not became over in 1998 as DX leader thanks to Russo writing. Also, Steve Austin refusing to work with him and put him over played also a major part

GOAT Heel? He is not even in the category with Mr. McMahon, Ric Flair and Hollywood Hogan and it doesn't matter when he went public, it's about when they started seeing each other and even his best buddy Waltman said that it happened earlier
It's safe to say it happened after the McMahon Helmsley angle after all Chyna was the one who came originally pitched the idea to HHH.

It's like you said in your post. His DX stable was successful in 98. Ultimately that put him line for a serious push which he capitalized on by angling himself to be Stephanie's wife.

Interesting. I had not heard that before!

Did people seriously not believe Chyna? Probably because they didn't want to believe her...

Quote:
Chyna, who is clamoring for a one night return to WWE to properly say goodbye to her fans, recounted the nature of her departure from the sports-entertainment organization in 2001 on Twitter Sunday night.

She sorely recalled how she discovered that Triple H, her then-boyfriend, had been having an affair with Stephanie McMahon, as well as the aftermath, which included a behind closed doors confrontation with the WWE chief’s daughter. She wrote, “If you didn’t know, Triple H & I were engaged during the time of the Mcmahon/Helmsley Takeover on Raw. About 6 months into that storyline, Paul would come home and start arguments with me for no reason and leave out for a few days. After he left one day, he left the Haliburton brief case that I gave him in the house. Now, I’m not one to be snooping but something just Didn’t feel right. I opened it up and found a love letter that Stephanie wrote to him a year earlier saying that she was in love with him. I called Vince up and told him what I found out. He just replied that the jig was up.

“The next day I went to the Raw show where there was a Bunch of wrestlers talking as I walked in the backstage. They started parting the way and turning their backs to me. Not even asking why I was crying. The same wrestlers that I had trained and performed with day in and day out. I was lead into Vince office where he was there With Stephanie. She basically said that Paul was his and I just had to deal with it. I said that she was lucky her father was there or I Would of ripped her face off. Vince said to go home and take some time off and then we will deal with it. I was near the end of my contract So basically, he never resigned me.”

She continues, “He choose his daughters happiness over his talent and maybe he should have. But this was business."

Back in the day I didn't see HHH as a big star for the future but credit to him, he worked his ass off and made it to the top. Russo or no Russo, he did it.

-Hollywood Hogan had the best heel turn. That's about it.

-Mr.McMahon's heel run was better than HHH as long as he was involved with Stone Cold.Against everyone else,he acted like a buffoon.HHH could go up against anyone and was the best damn heel

Or the fact that washed up talent like Steiner,Nash and Booker T got monster pops whenever they faced HHH and stopped getting those huge pops when they faced someone else

Pretty much this. HHH is good, but not top guy material.

I don't understand why people take into account only the PPVs.The weekly shows matter more

Re: Did Vince Russo think of Triple H as a top guy

Well, Triple H was pushed to main event right after Russo left, so I think he didn't think of Triple H as of someone, who could be a top guy.

I accept Hayley Williams rep.
