Yeah, he did so much harm to the industry. The only harm he did is that WWE lost so many fans in the last years when they watch old Attitude Era shows and realize how once exiting the shows were, with everybody on the roster relevant, be it Austin, Boss Man, Ivory or Patterson and then they watch the current Raw episode and they got sick of it and turn off.
Vince Russo damaged the industry just like the Attitude Era damaged the industry. It was so good that everything today looks so bland and mediocre.
And calling someone who was head writer during the wrestling boom, the hottest era and the highest ratings the worst writer in history is nothing else than a big joke. So much contradiction and nonsense in one sentence

Didn't we already have this thread about 2 months ago?

Anyway... my answer is NO. I have no interest in seeing Russo back. I didn't enjoy most of what he did in the AE. Hated almost everything he did in WCW during his stints there. Hated a lot of his TNA stuff too.

Most definitely! The people that have a go at him are the people that havnt watched his interviews to get a real insight to what its like to try and keep a 2 hour weekly show interesting for years on end.

Thing is - while he may have great ideas now, he hasnt got the A star cast to work with like he did in the late 90's. None of the wrestlers in WWE have charisma anymore, essentially his ideas wold wasted on the wrong people

I hope you don't genuinely believe that, it's such a ridiculously false statement.

Yeah, probably.

Not that Vince Russo is by any means a good booker, although during the AE he did have his occasional moments of genius. To reiterate what the OP said, there's a distinct absence of story-lines in the mid-card, to the point where they're non-existent. Which is all well and good if you've got a strong caliber main event scene, but the WWE is lacking in all areas.

They need someone who can develop the under-card talent, with multi-dimensional characters and slow burning plots that last over 4 weeks. Whether Russo is right for the job is questionable, but anything is certainly better than the current crop of writers. With RAW at 3 hours long, and about 5 other television shows throughout the week, I can't believe they can't do this already.

I really do believe it. They're all just normal looking, 1 dimensional guys in this era! No adolescent or adult can look at any of them and think 'i want to be that guy' like they did with austin, rock, godfather, val venis, mick foley etc. The current generation are all just templates constructed by the WWE with no room for original ideas

For the last time, Vince Russo was not responsible for:

This

or this

or this (which was pretty amusing to be honest)

or this

It's hilarious that a large amount of the people here hating on Russo are the same people you will see complaining how boring and directionless the product is. Throw in the fact that they only mention the shit you see in crazy Cornette rants or wwe DVDs to rip on him while ignoring everything positive he did and it becomes obvious that they're just regurgitating shit and don't really know what they're talking about.

Yes, of course we did but we have a few Russo marks so the threads always go way longer than they should. Most people realize that Russo is the drizzling shits & crippled the industry. Then someone comes in & spews a couple paragraphs of nonsense verbally fellating his dumbass & we get fifty more replies of circular arguments.
