This stems from discussion about Hogan/Austin/Rock/Undertaker as the Mt Rushmore of Wrestling - Who would be on that Mount Rushmore for purely in ring ability? Forget gimmicks, based on skill and matches said person had.
There are a lot of options, but trying to narrow that to the top 4 of all time would be quite a challenge.
I have some names I believe would be listed more often than not. Some examples are:
Bret Hart
Owen Hart?
Kurt Angle
Chris Benoit
Eddie Guerrero
HBK
William Regal
Mr Perfect
Randy Orton
Chris Jericho
Ricky Steamboat
Dolph Ziggler
Ric Flair?
Daniel Bryan
Randy Savage
Dean Malenko
Jushin Liger
Kevin Nash
Dynamite Kid

There are some non WWE/WCW/TNA people such as Kenta Kobashi that might earn recognition, but I would imagine keep it within the federations a majority of people know.
See, I wanted to go with Misawa, and strongly considered Kawada and Tsuruta, but it said in ring ability, and to me, that means who is the best technical wrestler. The four I picked edged those guys out.
Now if this took into account storytelling, psychology, character development, high flying ability and whatnot, then yeah, these guys would have made it. I chose specifically based on technical ability.
How do you have Kevin Nash on there, but not Curt Hennig (Mr. Perfect)?!
I'm sure someone already stated this, but it must be stated again.
Voted for Bret. Psychology and story-telling for the ages, plus some of the cleanest, crispest, technique. Versatile too, and could wrestle anyone.
Curt Hennig & Owen Hart would round out the top 3. Benoit would probably be 4th. He was crisp as hell and intense, but didn't quite have the psychology, I don't think.
Voted Regal, it is almost criminal that he is not one of the first names mentioned. It is, however, hard to pick from that list & most guys you could argue a case for.
It baffles me as to why OP has included some names, it has been admitted that Nash was a joke entry & I hope the votes for him are also jokes. I also don't see why Orton & Ziggler are on there, they both suck against names like Bret & Owen Hart, Steamboat, Regal, HBK & yet a guy like Finlay is an afterthought for most it seems.
If this were going to actually be a real thing that they'd build, I don't think Benoit would be on it for obvious political reasons. Even if his merits do qualify him.
I went Bret, HBK, Flair, and I think Angle. Fourth was tough for me. Jericho, Steamboat, and Hennig are right on the bubble.

Ric Flair has more votes than Randy Savage? And members of this forum claim to know what they're talking about? Give me a break (and by all means, all the red rep you want, I couldn't care less).
Ric Flair was not, repeat, NOT a good wrestler. Randy Savage, on the other hand, was an excellent wrestler.
Kevin Nash was a bit random did you run out of names?
