Why is the most hated era "pg era" seem like its lasted longer than the average era length?
I swear not sure if I'm accurate I'm pulling this out my ass I feel like WWE went PG around the time I was in like seventh grade and now I'm a graduating Senior. I'm not sure if that is right but it feels that long.
I feel like it won't end for generations.
I mean wwe is teamed up with the bully program and now special kid Olympics which makes it seem the pg era is locked down for a lot longer now..
Besides punk we don't have a legit heel, ass hole, scary wrestler in physical form, or tough aggressive and brutal wrestler like brock. The only reason way I can't see WWE having them type of heels anymore is because of the PG era.
Yes WWE will make money no matter what but damn they gave up all the shit we love about wrestling, besides bringing back old wrestlers we missed just to wrestle three times a year.
The pg era has nothing to do with WWE`s sad product atm. It's the writers Vince and co hires. They obviously have no interest or passion for the business. Stop hiring soap opera writers.
I look at it this way. Diva's wrestling in their bra and panties always made the show better, even though it never added any value. The sex, the drugs, the violence was what made the show interesting. How entertaining were the APA? Just a tag team that sits around, smokes, drinks beer, and kicks ass. You had freaks like the Dudleyz putting old ladies through table. You had blood, you had crazy matches like the triple thread TLC matches. Remember Kurt Angle vs Shane McMahon? That match was insane.
The PG just prevents the WWE from doing those racy skits. The show was just more dark and well.... raw back then. Raw Is War meant something. Now that Raw Is PG, it just isn't the same.
And this isn't a lame ploy that "Oh! We have to go back to the Attitude Era." They need a new era, one that allows for the racier skits to take place on the show.
Also, I don't care what anybody says. The PG move was made to make Linda McMahon look better on her campaign.
An edgier product is just way more entertaining, most of us aren't kids on this site so of course this era isn't catering to us, which is why we all hate it.

Mark Henry says hello. Punk isn't a legit heel, he can't get over as a heel because the things he's doing is too interesting and too disrespectful and the fans appreciate it in this shitty time of the year. We are sheep and will follow Punk into the depths of hell and there's nothing we or you or anyone could do about it.
PG definitely isn't the major problem. Although it does limit the extent to which they can go with violence, matches etc (which obviously inhibits aspects of the product some people enjoy) the REALITY (sorry attitude fanboys) is it doesn't stop them from putting on good matches/PPVs, having a mature product and compelling storylines. WWE in 2008 shortly after PG came pretty much proves my point (particularly Smackdown). Almost all PPV's were either Really good or good(ONS 08, Night of Champions 08, Summerlsam, Unforgiven , No Mercy, Survivor Series and Armageddon were all really good in both mine and several reviewer's opinions) and from what I remember the overly pg humour and childish storylines were only just starting to appear.
You guys think that PG Era equals PG Rating. And no, PG Era is the whole concept of PG Rating + Focusing the product to kids + Idiotic gimnicks with too much tv time + Poor Booking + Not pushing the right guys + Dead Crowds filled with people who know a damn thing about Wresting + ... etc.
So yes, PG Era is lame, it could be fine with only PG Ratings, but the whole thing sucks.
It's not the PG Era that's killing itself but the booking and writing is. People forget that the nWo was all a PG product. Those restrictions don't hurt as much as awful writing and booking does.
I actually got into wrestling during the early Attitude Era and the main draw for me was that it was edgy. The product can still cater to PG, just not base itself around being so cheesy and fucking predictable.
