I mean the intercontinental championship is north and south america right? So why is there a title just for the United States? If u must have a second midcard title bring back the European championship, makes more sense.

When RAW and Smackdown were separate shows with separate rosters there was an argument for having two top titles and two mid card titles, one for each show.

That argument doesn't exist anymore. Having so many titles for what is ultimately one roster is unnecessary. It was ok in the attitude era because the titles had gimmicks/stipulations like Hardcore title, Light-Heavyweight title etc that made them unique. There's now no difference between the IC and US titles.

So yes, the U.S. title needs to go away.

The Intercontinental Championship is supossed to represent all the continents, and I thought the same when I started watching wrestling. But I think since WWE is placed in North America, it makes sense having a USA Championship.

I think the smart way would be having one championship by brand defended mainly by uppercarders(USA, Intercontinental and NXT, for example), and an unique WWE Heavyweight Championship interpromotional defended by main eventers. And also the Divas and Tag Team championships, of course.

Yes they should they should also get rid of the WHC. They barely use the belts to mean anything anyway so they are just useless props with very little value.

With the current product the WWE title and the IC title would be more than enough even with just two singles titles the IC title would probly still struggle to make it to PPV.

I would rather they didn't get rid of any titles really, it would be much better to actually use them properly.. Though I guess that doesn't seem to be anything that's going to happen anytime soon sadly.

WWE should probably just cut back down to 4 titles.

Heavyweight
Tag
IC
Women's

Then they can re-educate the fans again as to what each title means and they could get a lot more from less titles than what they're currently getting from all these titles.

They dont need to get rid of any title right now, they just need to build rivalries around the titles. On Raw we had great one off match for the IC belt. Now give it an interesting story line, create a rivalry, and have consistent matches for both titles.

Its not like WWE doesnt have enough wrestlers, and its not like they dont have enough time for a match. Stop promoting films where Wade Barrett is a background actor, straight to DVD Miz, and "King Baby Oil" David is a racial minority cop, and have the match!

As much as I love the history of the US championship, going back to the days of the old WCW, it's become a joke. Get rid of it, and bring back the Cruiserweight title.

I see what you mean, but the United States title is a title for just America. In fact I would say that the greatest problem with the United States title is how it's used. Right now Cesaro is just floating through a random division. I would hate to say that it should be a title associated with certain talent, based on their non-American background. Not to say that American born wrestlers should not have anything to do with the title, but I feel it's a title that creatively has some flexibility.

How it's booked is just awful. Most, if not all the foreign stars should have the United States title at the top of their list. Why? Because the United States is the most powerful nation in the world, and what better way to represent America as it's own champion. What does the rest of the world matter when you are champion of the greatest, and most powerful nation on the planet? Obviously there are greater titles in the WWE, but from a creative standpoint it's provides interest.

Cesaro has done nothing that actually represents the title other than his attire, and carrying the American flag. Which I thought was a solid move on his part. At the same time there has been nothing else done really with this title. I think Cesaro should consider this proposition. First, he should have a tournament in which only American born wrestlers can take part in. The stipulation is this, the winner gets a title shot at Cesaro's United States title, but if Cesaro wins he will never have to defend his title vs an American as long as he is champion.

This all takes place prior to WM 29, and the actual match for the title would take place at WM 29. I would have Miz win the tourney, and lose to Cesaro. This allows Cesaro to not have to defend his title vs an American. This leaves the door open for stars like Kingston, Sin Cara, Mysterio, Gabriel, or even Tyson Kidd to attempt to take the title from him. Ultimately, I would have Cesaro hold the title through WM, and on into Summer Slam. At that point I think El Generico would be the perfect person to debut vs him, and take his title. Perfect underdog character.

Yeah i think so, it has the least amount of prestige so I wouldnt mind if they got rid of it.

I don't think having two midcard titles is the problem. If u read the original post I said it would make more sense if they replaced it with the European title since the Intercontinental title represents North and South America, thus representing the United States. How is it that one title represents two continents and the other represents one country, but both have equal value? Especially when the Intercontinental title already includes the United States.

I think it's meant to look like RAW and SmackDown are their own separate entities therefore they have their own world title, midcard etc. however obviously since it began that has fizzled out but still that to me was the original idea and I think that both brands should have a world title.
