I like how Cena's list of great matches is much bigger than Orton's, and yet nobody is picking him for it. Just proves that it's mostly his character people hate. They liked him just fine back when he was heel. It's just that when he's been in his position for this long now people start picking every fault the guy has. I think he's a good performer, just need to have more layers in his character and sell story-lines better.

What has in-ring ability anything to do what happened with the Golden era, Hulkamania, WrestleMania, Cindy Lauper, Mr T and other things so your argument is invalid.

btw check next time "Hulk Hogan Japan" on YouTube before posting nonsense how bad Hogan is

Unlike Cena marks we know what happens outside of WWE
Acrually agree. Taker - HHH at WM 28 was more of a 5 star match than it.

Plus I'd seen dozens of Meltzer rated 4 star matches that were way more entertaining.

This.

The only botches I recall were Punk landing on his ass while trying to reverse the FU and I think he did a pretty bad cross body too. The match definitely wasn't littered in botches though. That's a big exaggeration.

It's like modern day popular rap music.
Just like rap, Cena had to be inventive and fresh to appeal to the public, and he succeeded in that.
Just like rap, Cena has gotten too cosy in his current role and basically thinks that no matter what he does, people will like it. (Equivalent to rapping about money, bitches, swag and hoes)

The problem is his character. I actually would have enjoyed this doubt-filled, determined John Cena LAST YEAR. They've waited too late to build up the dramatic tension for Wrestlemania, but it would have been excellent about six months ago.
John Cena is not the Hunchback of Notre Dame but he's ugly for a face of the company

I would be not surprised if in 1 month this forum calls him the new Kenta Kobashi

Actually I counted more botches. The story is what made this match so memorable, the match itself was everything but a 5 stars match. By this logic Bret Hart vs Mr McMahon was better than Christian vs Randy Orton because it had a better storyline

John Cena is an average technical wrestler. I mean he cant do a hurricarana or a monkey flip correctly but that being said hes a decent story teller. Lance Storm was a great technician but he couldn't get the crowd invested.

Cena's ringwork isn't bad, he's had some great matches in the past. It's his gimmick/character and the fact he is fucking shoved down our throats I don't like.

You are having a selective memory.

Along with the ones you mentioned, he missed two spring board attempts, and I do recall him fcking up a back suplex attempt where he wasn't able to lift Cena fully.

One of those threads where some kid reading the internet listens to peoples opinions but can't make his own.

Cena is amazing in ring. If you believe otherwise, you don't know shit about pro wrestling.
