I mean I get it. Austin isn't a WWE superstar anymore. He, like the Rock, retired and moved onto other projects in his life. Many would argue Rock is a much busier man than Austin; however, he still found a way to bring his presence back to the WWE and even compete.
Now I'm not griping Austin because he hasn't come back and wrestled like Rock has... but when I think back to Raw 1000, Raw 20th, and Old School Raw... not one appearance by the Rattle Snake. Does Steve Austin honestly feel he was so busy he couldn't come to any of those three major Raw events and perform a few Stone Cold Stunners? Or does he just not care anymore?
I just really don't understand his neglect towards WWE. I mean he's past that part of his life, he's free to do whatever he wants... but when there is still such a want from the fans, on top the historical events that have happened on Raw this past year... it baffles me that he hasn't made an appearance.
It just makes me wonder if there isn't something going on. Is there a reason Austin hasn't been around? Is he truly just that busy? Is it neglect? Or does he just feel he doesn't owe anything to the WWE anymore? In any case, it seems strange to me. Having these odes to the history of Raw. Smackdown was the Rock's show, and Raw was arguably Austin's. Hopefully at some point we are graced with the presence of 3:16 in the future!

b) Come back for what? To share the spotlight with Undertaker, Rock, Lesnar, Jericho etc who are also only here on a visitation basis

Oh and he did also have surgery last summer
I already noted that in everything I said.
My point wasn't having him to come back just to come back. My point was him missing Raw 1000, Raw 20th, and Old School Raw. Three events that would have been perfect for Austin even just to make an appearance. I'm not talking about him coming back and making a string of appearances or trying to compete with the spotlight from anybody. He's Austin, he doesn't have to. He'll always get his reaction from the crowd regardless of what's going on.

i see no reason for austin to come back to pg tv, he already did that last few times and it kinda sucked, and im sure he knew that too. so i am kinda guessin thats why we wont see him unless every top guy gets injured and vince needs him desperately thats the only way i see him coming back
Austin was basically fresh out of surgery for his knee and has stated he missed raw1000 for that reason. He said something along the lines of he didn't want everyone to see him hobble to the ring on crutches. He missed raw 20th because he was already booked for a hunting convention with Shawn michaels before wwe contacted him about appearing. As far as old school raw goes, it was old school raw, not attitude era raw. I thought the nao were out of place on the show. Trust me though, I would love to see Austin hand out stunners again.
Honestly, can you smarks not accept that people want to have lives outside of wrestling?! Seriously, guys like Austin and Rock don't owe you fanboys anything. Is it really that big of a deal that Austin hasn't been showing up? He's RETIRED as an active superstar and his appearances should be sporadic at most. Hell, if he was showing up you'd probably complain he was hogging the spotlight and stealing TV time from younger guys.

^ This. Austin had a good reason for not showing up to each of those events. I'm sure he'll make a cameo some time in the not-too-distant future. I do wanna see another stunner.
