He SHOULD feel like he doesn't owe them anything, because he doesn't. He saved the E's ass during the Monday Night Wars, and sacrificed the fuck out of his knees and neck in the process.

Anyway, I dunno, maybe he felt like the constant appearances kinda watered down the "special" feeling of his returns, maybe he was busy, or maybe he just didn't want to. Nobody really knows but him and those close to him.

because everyone wants to see him get back in the ring, maybe his distance is his way of saying that he doesn't want to risk being crippled

Austin is done, he doesn't owe anyone anything, the best he could do if he really cared is to endorse a possible rival to wwe, FREE OF CHARGE

he's made enough money to retire by now

My theory is that he doesn't appear the way The Rock does because he's way more tired of wrestling. Rock spent, what, ten years at maximum in the wrestling industry? That's if you count his brief memphis and indy experience. He never had a major injury. Austin debuted in 89 as a wrestler, wrestled unti 2003. So that's fourteen years or so with the last few years of that dominated by a major neck injury he had to work through and never really got time to properly rehab without being on TV. If I had to do that, you'd never see me again either.

Edit: Also, The Rock spent almost ALL of that time at the very top of the business as a huge featured box office star. He never had to grind crappy shows or work through years in the midcard trying to get noticed the way Austin did. That can make you reconsider your career path.

Because he's retired. I love how some people act as if wrestlers live only for WWE and have no life outside of it. Austin is enjoying his well deserved retirement, he doesn't need to come back.

Clearly some of you have no idea what retires means. Look it up.

he's been back plenty of times. and he would do tough enough if they actually got off their asses and made a new series.
as for raw 1000 or something like that he would of done if he wasnt commited to something else. austin doesnt skimp out on wwe.

I look at it from a different angle. Why should Austin come back? Look at Foley. He comes back so often his pops get less and less. The longer a wrestler stays around for the bigger the anticipation to see more.

When Rock left in 03 I too wondered why Rock was neglecting WWE. Then I realized it was probably for the best because look at Cena and how much hate he gets. The more overexposed you are the less the fans want you to stick around for.

Cause he's a cunt and probably knows he would be second fiddle to The Rock if he did share screen time with him. Should that be the case ? NO! but it would be saying as The Rock is Hollywood A list and Austin is making B movies with Dolph L. He will return when he can have his place at the top I'm sure.

Because he's trying to move on into hollywood and wrestling has a bad stigma associated with it. he wants to distance himself from it as much as he can.
