Re: take away ALL the titles from wwe right now, it wont make a difference
The OP is so right.
Just have ONE major title and ONE minor title, plus ONE tag team title (like they have now tbh) and ONE women's/Diva's title. Perhaps then people will care it you win it.
They only switched to having 2 of each type of title due to the now dead in all but name brand extension. So just give it up already, what kind of messed up logic says that having MORE titles, thus allowing MORE superstars to carry them, gets people over? If that were truly the case, then just give everyone on the roster a belt. That would be exciting, right? Real prestigious.
On top of that, the WHC never challenges the WWE champion. So your official No.1 guy and your official No.2 guy can't face each other. WTF? In what other sport would this be remotely acceptable? If Manchester City and Manchester United reach the FA cup final, should we just say they both won it? Because that would elevate both their respective status's in the world of football?
And more title matches = less importance attributed to each one. This year's damn Wrestlemania will revolve around Rock vs Cena, the Undertaker's streak, and the end of a feud that ended perfectly well already at Summerslam. Oh and whatever dumb celebrity WWE bring in to boost their "profile". None of which centres around the WWE title (even though Rock is champio!). Maybe caring about your titles will boost your profile, you idiots.
The IWC get moaned at for moaning all the time but with something as SIMPLE and OBVIOUS as this, the WWE deserve to be criticised. These people are PAID to do this type of thinking, we do it for free because we love the business and get ignored and let down time and time again.
Sorry for the rant but this issue really annoys me, it's fucking retarded logic. Not even bad booking, just bad logic in general.
