Repackage A Superstar

Ok, here we go.

We all have wrestlers who we like but have been killed by poor gimmicks/writing.

On another thread, someone had an idea for Ziggler which i thought was fantastic & kind of inspiration for this thread. (Own up, whoever it was.)

So let's here your ideas.

I have a few, but the person i feel could benefit from a change is Kofi Kingston.

He, currently, has no real gimmick, which really hurts him. He is ok/good in the ring, yet he lacks charisma.

At this stage, a heel turn is the only thing that could refresh him.

'Nation of Domination'

Could anyone see this working?

Pair him with Mark Henry (an original) & get Farrooq as the mouth peice.

Although i very much like Henry's 'Hall of Pain' gimmick, he is going to retire soonish & they could use this gimmick to elevate Kofi.

Let's hear yours.

Re: Re-package A Superstar.

Sorry for late replys, like any of you were waiting :lol

Works been kicking my ass.

Not bad, but I would do it with Ziggler instead of Kingston. He can emulate Owen and join Mark Henry's new Nation.
This could work & Ziggler deffinatly needs more substance.

Sorry OP, the nation of domination Kofi idea is relatively old and, well, bad. Kofi wouldn't manage to do SHIT as part of a stable of any kind. He's aimless as fuck and nothing's going to help him but himself and a better singles gimmick.
While i feel you are correct about Kofi, i don't recall him ever having a chance as a stable member, could be what he needs, or it could quite easily make him worse. There's no reward without risk however.

The Fake Jamaican was okay, even if it was stupid. How about the Black Pope gimmick in TNA? COuld work. I mean, R-Truth would probably do it better.

Re: Re-package A Superstar.

I tend to spout these a lot, but fuck it, I'll throw a couple in here.

Yoshi Tatsu: Yoshi's very talented in the ring, and is able to get the crowd behind him. However, his one major, glaring problem is pretty obvious: his faulty English, which makes it impossible for him to cut serious promos. In addition, his character is a little ridiculous. The remedy? Bring back the black leather attire with the half-kabuki facepaint, pair him up with a good mouthpiece, and give him a Great Muta-type gimmick. This would prevent him from having to say anything, and the Muta gimmick makes him look like a strong competitor. He can play the "strong silent hero" face role, or the "silent but deadly" heel. It wouldn't be able to elevate him to the main event, but his character would be infinitely more interesting, and he could be a pretty solid midcard threat. Maybe change his name to just "TATSU." (Disclaimer: The name change idea, I got from an old thread here. Sadly, I can't remember the name of the guy who posted it.)

Lord Tensai: Now let me preface this by saying that Tensai is a lost cause at this point, so this is more of a retroactive thing. Anyway, as much as people hate Tensai, I think he could've done a very good job in the "Umaga role" (the dangerous monster that gives upper-midcard faces that final push into main event territory, and can serve as a credible title threat if the need comes up). It's no secret that his gimmick was a little... Lacking. And by that, I mean it didn't exist. So why not make him stand out a bit by giving him a distinguishing motive? The key to this: the Albert chants. Instead of ignoring them, they should've had Tensai straight up address them. Have him say something along the lines of "This is why I left for Japan. Unlike you all, they gave me the respect I deserve, and now that I'm here again, I'm going to force you all to bow to me!" or something like that. And there you go, a mildly-interesting character with a PURPOSE. Now the audience has a REASON to care. Hell, if they were willing to go so far, they could even have him say "The Japanese accepted me as one of their own, while you all contine to laugh at me, which is why I embraced the Japanese culture as my own" to explain the name change and facepaint. Yeah, I know, "FOREIGN HEELS R LAEM", but hey, it gives the character some depth, whatever. The culture thing is secondary anyway; it's a respect/vengeance thing first and foremost.

TL;DR:

Yoshi Tatsu - Great Muta character.

Lord Tensai - Furious about being seen as a joke, hell-bent on destroying the whole roster.

A good way for him to actually be elevated to this would be to gain fuckloads of heat by beating the living shit out of the Funkadactyls (FUCK YO WIMMIN), then destroying Brodus after it.

Re: Re-package A Superstar.

Sin Cara has to become Mistico. His so hopeless as Sin Cara and causes people to change channels, because he protrays zero character that the audience can get behind. WWE has to dig in their pockets and aquire the Mistico name.

It is what made him big. Sin Cara now is like watching a drone wrestle. Mistico onthe other hand gives him a aura of mystery, a presence that draws eyes to him and hedisplays more charisma as that character. Compare Legend Killer to Viper, that's the difference with Sin Cara.

Re: Re-package A Superstar.

Big E Langston - break him away from Ziggler and give him his 5 count NXT gimmick
Kane - needs to be a legitimate monster again and not a hugging masked man
Daniel Bryan - trim off his beard and make him The American Dragon we all know
The Miz - I'm sorry but his face turn kind of feels forced upon us. Make him at least non goofy like
