Re: Lance Storm

Lance Storm seems like a pretty bitter guy. I have interacted with him on Twitter and his responses carried the same boring tone that he had in the ring. He also called me a tool when I was just asking for his opinion about something that happened on Raw.

Re: Lance Storm

I mentioned back on page 9 how surprised and impressed I was that a thread simply about Lance Storm had lasted this long. And it's still going! His popularity is coming back everyone!

There's no Lance Storm smiley, so here's DDP:

Re: Lance Storm

In ring wrestling entertains me more than someone talking for twenty minutes. That's why I'd rather see Lance storm wrestle for 5 minutes than the best promo cutter make pop culture references and kiss the local sports team's ass for 5 minutes. Different people are entertained by different things. I couldn't care less about drawing fans and raitings. Oh yeah I don't cum over "teh indies" before any of you say that.

Is Lance Storm among the greatest in ring wrestlers of all time? Yes. Is Lance among the greatest wrestlers of all time list? Clearly not.

So does this mean Bret Hart is not one of the greatest wrestlers of all time because he wasn't that big of a draw? Is Goldberg one of the greatest wrestlers of all time? Fuck no. One of the best draws of all time? Yes. WRESTLING IS NOT ALL ABOUT DRAWING POWER.

Before Vince McMahon turned wrestling into this big entertainment world, the purpose of professional wrestling was two guys in the ring whose objective was to make the audience suspend their belief by creating a realistic match that can be enjoyed by everyone. You Hulk Hogan kool aid drinking fucks have an issue indy wrestlers using bullshit claims but all they are doing is simply working the purpose of professional wrestling in a much more modern and talented manner without all the glam that Vince McMahon created.

(I'm not even bias here. I'm a fan of those who can draw and entertain, but let's act like we have some common sense here.)

Storm's not like that at all actually.

Your moronic arguments bore me. Anything else you wanna say like the moon is red? The sky is yellow? You have Russo's pubic hair in a bag at your house?

Re: Lance Storm

He was a Dean Malenko type. Fantastic in ring talent and athlete, but lacking in the personality department.

To WCW's credit, they actually took his somewhat boring personality and made it into something entertaining. It carried over to WWE for a bit, but they jobbed him into oblivion, so it didn't last.

Lance, at the very least, was a good hand. He could make guys look outstanding and that is the value of having someone like him on the roster.

Re: Lance Storm

Whatever, I liked Lance Storm.

I also loved Dean Malenko, he was one of my favorite WCW guys. And before anyone starts calling me a "workrate mark", I've been a fan of Dean's since I was like...10.

So the OP has an opinion, that's his choice. What pisses me off is how he expressed it, and how others in this thread are quite ready to point out why their opinion is clearly right and everyone else is a moron for disagreeing.

I also find it hard to believe that so many of you would say Lance Storm is a terrible in ring worker, and then would go on to praise John Cena who gave us such gems as:

All because Cena is more popular and a, quote unquote, better entertainer. Makes it quite evident you have zero clue what you're talking about. There's a fine distinction between good entertainer and good in ring worker, as Headliner said. Why you people feel the need to comment when you have no clue is beyond me.

Russo's pubic hair > Lance Storm's matches
Speaking of hair, Russo only needs a different hair cut and to shave and he looks like a different person, like a new personality while Storm is for almost 20 years the same boring guy and his matches are just like his look.
This is the only guy who is boring and serious even when he smiles
Look

Re: Lance Storm

It's amazing how people don't seem to get what pro wrestling is all about. If you enjoy watching "technicians" go and watch amateur wrestling or ROH.

Like I said in a previous post, guys like Lance Storm will kill the business if WWE continue to hire them and put them in main event spots.

Personality and charisma are two very important requirements, in my opinion, to be considered a good wrestler. There's more to it than just being able to put people in boring submission holds for 35 minutes a match.

Professional wrestling is a form of entertainment. Lance Storm, and others like him, are not entertaining. They're fucking boring.
