Wrestling Ability
Worst:4-5/10
Best: 7-8 /10

Overall (Average):

Re: Grading Cena As A Performer

Depends.

Do we judge Cena on a day where he gives a 100%? Or on a day where he decides to lay on the mat for 10 minutes before springing up with his 5 moves of doom, all while Jerry Lawler cums in his pants at commentary?

Which is why I separated it into best and worst categories.

Re: Grading Cena As A Performer

I think Cena on a really good day where he is giving it his all and is into it, can be an 8-10 on the mic. Of course he could also go in the "poopy" and the "We've got a great show tonight folks" shill mode direction and be a 1-3.

I don't know how to judge him as a wrestler. Impossible for me to do that. Too much goes into that. Opponent, chemistry, etc. Too difficult, I think.

Re: Grading Cena As A Performer

With respect to ring work, Cena never really elevates his opponent; he's not the kind of guy who can carry someone to a great match. He can put on a good show with a great worker (see Punk, Ziggler, or even going way back to his debut, Angle), which generally says more about those folks than it does him. But I really think he brings out the best in Punk -- they have good chemistry together, both on the mic and in the ring.
