Re: Grading Cena As A Performer

Mic skills and in-ring at his very best he is a 10 for both. How many more 5 star matches does he have to have til people give him some respect? Fuck the fag haters.

Can also drop to about a 5 for both when he isn't on. Too many goofy promos and lazy matches.

Re: Grading Cena As A Performer

I've got to take issue with you saying Cena's promo basement is a 5. I've seen him do multiple, cringeworthy, face-palming, this-is-making-me-squirm, "I'm happy I'm watching this alone as a man pushing 30" promos EVERY SINGLE YEAR so I put the basement at 1. Cena, at his worst on the mic, is a 1. Maybe you give him credit for the bare minimum, like not stumbling on words or forgetting lines, but he has done barbarous things on the mic the past few years.

These fn cena topics... it never ends.

The reason why we don't get fresh ideas and promotions rising in American Pro Wrestling is because the majority of the community is happy with the same old shit and will reject any chance of change. There is a risk in doing new things, 9 times out of 10, it leads to 50+ pages of bitching and moaning. While business gets turned into a dictatorship and more and more out of touch. Support the indies, support New Pro Wrestling.

Nah, because even on those corny promos, he still has great delivery. That brings it up to a 5 alone for me. Probably the best in the business and one of the greats of all time.

A real 1/10 would be a Great Khali promo or something. Putting Cena at 5 for his basement low is about right, maybe 4.

Overall, I'd say he averages out at about 8/10

He is right. Cena has to work with a good worker to look good. Case and point just look at his match with Punk. But Cena is unable to make a poor worker look better than they actually are like Punk, Ziggler or Bryan can do. Cena basically is able to work up to the level of his opponent. If he is facing someone great he can be great, but if he is facing someone poor, he cant do better.

9 out of ten, easily.

He's one of the best workers in the company today.

You all may make fun of people with "IT'S STILL REAL TO ME DAMN IT!" for the young kids or marks or whatever, but you guys are even worse than them. You have this deep-seeded legitimate rage for Cena and his fans to the point where you let it affect your day to day life.

Grow up. Seriously.

CM Punk stepping in the ring with Cena is magic. Punk and Cena both look better when they face off, so I disagree.

This. If he's in the ring with someone good to great, he can be in a good to great match (HBK, Punk, etc.) If he's in the ring with someone not so great (Miz at WM27, Rock nowadays, etc.), he will be in a below average match.

His mic skills, at his best, he's pretty good, I guess. But nothing great. At his worst? Just remember that Raw before Royal Rumble promo. Or the calling John Lauranitis a "loser" promo 100 different times. Awful.

Re: Grading Cena As A Performer

I have seen Cena pull off some of the worst matches I have ever seen, he never sells, always wins with an AA out of nowhere which is an awful finisher.

And yet, I have seen him pull out some of the best matches I have ever seen also, and just about every single time, its with CM Punk. Those guys really have good ring chemistry. Monday night is evidence to that!

I would rate him 5/10 on average, but 9/10 when he is fighting Punk. He is not the worst, but certainly not the best.
