WWE accused of playing the race card

Conservative Alex Jones has slammed WWE over the Zeb Coulter character, saying that the company is "creating a racist wrestler to demonize the Tea Party." Jones, who was one of the people who Lawler joked last night was "sending fan mail" to Jack Swagger and Coulter, wrote on his website InfoWars.com that Swagger is being positioned as a Tea Party heel before he faces Alberto Del Rio at WrestleMania.

The site also notes Linda McMahon's unsuccessful Senate run, saying, "This is part of the divide and conquer tactic of cultural subversion to manufacture racial division and to characterize the Tea Party, conservatives, libertarians, opponents of uncontrolled illegal immigration, and constitutionalists as racist, extremist radicals who should be pushed to the fringes of the political discourse. Now the demonization runs so deep that it's even being bolstered by WWE wrestling. The fact that WWE is owned by Vince and Linda McMahon, who are part of the Republican establishment, also tells us a lot about how grass roots conservatives and libertarians are viewed by those near the top of the power structure."

He has a point. WWE has had a long history of doing this. Just look at how through all the years of the WWE's existence the main event scene has been pretty much dominated by white wrestlers. Not only that, but just look at how almost every minority that comes to the WWE has a stereotypical gimmick.

I'm liking Dutch Mantel in this role too much, but then again you can always push the envelope. In a good way hopefully...I mean...at least it's not necrophilia...again

It's entertainment and his beloved Bill of Rights allows for the freedom of speech. He can whine all he wants but the WWE is well within their rights to create any characters that they please. Besides I'm sure that Jones wouldn't be all up in arms if they had a dirty, smelly, stupid hippy character. It just goes to show you that a lot of these people have NO sense of humor and take themselves far too seriously.

As soon as WWE does anything even remotely edgy, here comes a politician to over-react and over-analyze.

Who gives a motherfuck? It's a damned kids show it's not important. Perhaps he should spend more time crafting conspiracy theories instead of grasping at invisible straws....lol.

Most of WWE's viewers aren't old enough to vote anyway.

PUSH THE BUTTON!!!!!!! Get media attention. I am African-American and I always wanted a very racist story line. That and homophobia. That way it can say "stop the bully" in wrestling and create a storyline out of it.

Re: WWE accused of playing the race card

This is great. The more main stream exposure the better (and most people are of course enjoying the gimmick). All we need now is for Vince to go on radio show or something and outright tell Mr. Jones to suck it. That would be awesome.

Wrestlemania 31

Cody Rhodes vs Goldust

Ladder match for the Tag Team Championship: The Ascension (c) vs The Usos vs team 3

Bray Wyatt vs Big Show

Intercontinental Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Daniel Bryan or John Cena

André The Giant Memorial Battle Royal: Sheamus or John Cena

United States Championship Match: Rusev (c) vs John Cena or Jack Swagger

Randy Orton vs Triple H - Orton wins with a coiled RKO after 14 minutes.

Divas Championship: Nicki Bella (c) vs Brie Bella

Triple Threat for the WWEWHC: Roman Reigns (c) vs Dean Ambrose (RR winner) vs Seth Rollins (Rematch Clause from EC)
