I think that's the biggest thing. Trish could be in any storyline and you would look forward to it. She was extremely charismatic, funny, and just a joy and seemed like an organic part of the show.
Did I, at times, feel she was over-pushed?
Yes. But I'm also a huge Lita fan. I'm sure if Lita got the same number of pushes people would've complained about that too and said Trish was entitled to more just like we do about Lita now. So, I'm basically admitting my bias here. Of course I'd want my favorite to have gotten more/better stories and more titles, but Trish wasn't exactly a slouch.
The obsessed fan angle was originally written by Mickie James for her and Lita. Does anyone feel it was a disservice to the story that it ended up about Trish and Mickie? No. Because it was great.
Trish is not my cup of tea. I don't even really like her, but I respect her...especially when I see what these other women fail at every week. If you did the same angles with Trish Stratus or Lita they'd be far more over. They had above everything else, charisma and crowd connection.
I do think that AJ has those qualities, I just find her character annoying as fuck because of the way they write her. Her failures get exposed and her whiny fanboys make it worse by raving about her as the greatest diva ever and trashing her BETTERS who came before her.
I think you could take any storyline from the past 6 years since she retired, stick Trish in it and it would've been 10x better. The only reason why her feud with Laycool fell flat was because the kiddies forgot who she was

which unfortunately seems to be the trend with every AE star save a few exceptions. When fans bring that up I think they have selective memories and forget that it's not just the women who are forgotten by these new era fans, most of the over stars from ten years ago are not remembered. People forgot about Too Cool, Goldust barely got any interest, Million Dollar Man, who was a huge star was forgotten...
The few exceptions have been APA and DX who've been around in one form or another either through Ron Simmons as a reminder or Triple H and HBK.
It's a little infuriating when fans sit on their hands for people who were great just a few years ago. Trish's HOF package barely got a clap and Lita barely got a pop when she came back...until she hit that moonsault...
