Re: Have you ever stopped watching wrestling?

I stopped watching around 06/07 because I hated almost every single thing about Raw, Mainly the Spirit Squad and didn't come back until Punk's Promo. Then midway through 2012 I stopped again because it's just gotten so boring and unwatchable.

I can't stand Tyson Kidd. There I said it.

Re: Have you ever stopped watching wrestling?

Raw during 2006 was awful. I didn't mind '07 but Jesus that was bad.

I stopped caring about any form of wrestling in the South and NWA/JCP after Dusty Rhodes lost his second World heavyweight title. Screw you Flair.

2002-2007
Stopped when Austin walked out. Yes I was that big a mark for him. Then I outgrew wrestling, and I was sucked back in by the documentary non kayfabe DVDs wwe was putting out.

Re: Have you ever stopped watching wrestling?

Completely stopped between 2002-2010 (not sure at all why I joined in 2008), came back around the Nexus angle and then started to give up when I continuously saw John Cena go over Nexus and Barrett fail to capture the WWE title. Seriously I was as casual a fan as they come, didn't even know about the IWC and I could tell the booking was shit. Rock came back and I stayed but again slowly was moving past wrestling post-Wrestlemania because it all became shit again but then the Summer of Punk happened and I was hooked.

Now? I'm back to taking a break (summer 2012-present), everything just got REALLY bad since WM28 but I did tune in for some of Punk's segments and matches with Daniel Bryan. Even then I don't really watch beyond maybe 5 or 10 minutes of the opening or ending segment. I do keep up somewhat with recaps and lurking this board though, but I still consider myself on a break from WWE (will watch the first Raw after EC to see if anything decent is going on for Wrestlemania though).

Good for you. I find it hard to concentrate my studies when I can't stop thinking about wrestling and watching videos.

Any tip can be very helpful

On topic, I stopped watching altogether in December 2008 mainly because the WWE main event scene was full of veterans and barely had any young guys. Witnessing the rise of Jeff Hardy was game-changing but it was all too late. I also got tired seeing Cena and Jericho (idk why, he's an excellent worker but I'm one of the very few who hated his psycho-corporate heel gimmick). Oh yeah, not to mention Triple H burying every midcarder in 2007-08!

Ever since then, I only tune in to Bleacher Report, WF, and Youtube.

Re: Have you ever stopped watching wrestling?

Stopped in '02 I think, can't exactly remember when it was though. Haven't massively got back into it although I watched the last Wrestlemania and this years Royal Rumble, mainly due to Rock's return.

Can't get back into it to be honest, for me its like watching football in the mid-90s and switching it back now with the large amounts of , foreign players, diving etc. A lot of changes have been made and i'll only appreciate it more if I watch the years I've missed.

Just started watching Attitude Era 97 onwards now, currently onto Summerslam '00 and can't wait to watch the old WCW years after.

Re: Have you ever stopped watching wrestling?

Back in late 2010/early 2011 I stopped watching because they didn't do anything with Punk,I came back when I heard Punk was competing again against Mysterio at Capital Punishment.

Re: Have you ever stopped watching wrestling?

From early 2002, until mid-2007 I had stopped watching. The Benoit murder-suicide brought me back in, oddly enough.

Re: Have you ever stopped watching wrestling?

Started watching in 2005 and stopped in 2008, after that watched random episodes here and there and got back full time at the Royal Rumble 2012.

Only thing that upsets me is missing Summer of Punk since CM Punk has been my favorite ever since he debuted on the WWECW.
