Wrestling moves that you tried to do when you were a kid

I think a lot of us tried to emulate the moves we see from our favorite wrestlers growing up. The question is what were the moves and who did you use the moves on?

For me I've tried Walls of Jericho, Ankle Lock, Rocks Bottom, Benoit's German Suplex against my little brother.

I was a power move kinda guy when I was a kid. I always lifted my younger brother up for the Jackknife powerbomb, the Razor's Edge, the Bulldog running powerslam, the Tombstone, moves like that. Then later, it was the F5, Olympic Slam, moves like that and going from one generation to another, lol!

I was also pretty big into submissions and applying them properly. I laugh every time Rock does the Sharpshooter because he twists the legs wrong, and I think back to how I always did it the way Bret did it. I'm pretty sure Rock does it as a tribute to Owen, which is why he applies it from the right leg, but he still twists his opponent's legs wrong.

Used to stage matches with my friends, too. Back in early '99 when Rock and Austin were feuding, my friends and I liked to have Attitude Era-type matches where the combatants fight all over the arena and such. One buddy of mine, Nick, was The Rock while my other friend Brock was Stone Cold, and I'd play the ring announcer/JR on commentary. I'd call Rock out first, because Austin always started those matches by blazing down to the ring and just tearing into Rock, which is exactly what Brock did! The match started out in Brock's basement with couch cushions on the floor, and sure enough, we'd take the action upstairs where Nick and Brock traded right hands while battling through the kitchen, hallway, and living room. "Rock" would blind "Austin" by spitting water in his face and retreat back to the basement, and Stone Cold gave chase, where ultimately the match ended with a typical middle finger/Stunner finish. I can't remember how long that match went on, but it had to be a solid 20 minutes of just destroying each other through Brock's house. Luckily, his mom was at work and we had the run of the place. So much fun back in those days!

Lol, I also took a ref bump when Brock went to hit Nick with a cookie sheet, but Nick ducked and I took it like a champ.

Did a Stunner to my friend on a mattress. He put too much of his body weight into it and ended up falling chest first onto my neck as my top half got sandwiched in between him and my lower body. Good fucking lord did that hurt. Immediately after I couldn't move my neck to the right, it hurt that much. Was sore for a few days and then I was fine. I can still crack my neck to this day, thanks to the crunch I felt when he landed on me.

Performed a Pedigree on the same guy at another time as well. Not surprisingly, upon landing, my knees squeezed his head too hard (whacking him in the temples) and his lower back flew up when he jumped up to take the move, smacking me right in the mouth. That hurt a good deal as well.

I took a Fameasser and that worked out really well. Seriously...looked great and didn't hurt a bit.

Ah the ignorance of youth. Back when you could do stupid shit like that (and in my case, video tape it) and parents weren't immediately on the phone trying to get the subject matter banned. In other words, you were a bit more free to be a kid. Sure that stuff hurt, but the memories will last a lifetime.

In grade 6, a couple of guys were play wrestling in the halls, and one of them decided to try a running close line.....nearly took the other kids head off! He was suspended for a week. We all thought it was cool while watching it happen :cheer

lol, all these stupid memories coming back now...and all the accidents. My brother was using a step ladder to act as the top rope, and was going to jump off it onto me lying on a mattress on the floor....the ladder had a broken foot and when he lost his balance, he fell on it and sliced his big toe open....you were able to see the bone! "mom, Shawn needs stiches again!"
