Default Can Wrestlers still act on the fly?

Was reading a recent interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin. He said a lot of the new guys lack the ability to act on the fly when something in the match doesnt go as planned. He said that when he was wrestling in WWE, everything they did was never really pre planned, they just went to the ring and worked. Now a days wrestlers are kinda told exactly how the match will go, down to their moves before they go out. So when things go up, they kinda freeze. Agree?

Roddy Piper told that shit too in an interview not long ago. He said the young guys don't work with the heart.

I do think that still a couple of guys like Orton, Punk, maybe even cena know how to work a match without pre planning.

You can add Cena and Bryan to the list as well.

I truly believe that the 4 of them were the last group of guys to have learned the business the right way.

From my own understanding of it, the following matches are planned out on January 1st:
Sheamus v Orton
Sheamus v Barrett
Sheamus v Ziggler
Orton v Ziggler
Orton v Barrett
Del Rio v Sheamus
Del Rio v Orton

And those matches are then repeated relentlessly throughout the year until the heads of WWE fans just can't takes no more and fall off from months of head-shaking and their eyes disappear into the back off their faces from the constant rolling of eyes in frustration.

So there is no need for acting on the fly for most of them except for the likes of Cena who is too busy kissing babies and curing cancer with his tears to have time for pre-planning matches.

Yeah, only a handful of guys in the lockerrom still have the ability to innovate. It's the veterans who've been doing for a long time that can handle themselves in situations like that. The new guys can't. It's mostly WWE's stifiling these guys so much that they're far too dependent on planned matches and spots.

Edit:
Here's a video that's been posted a couple of times with Big Show talking about this:

Yeah, I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that most of the wrestlers from the 90's and early 2000's came up through wrestling via territorial or independent circuits before they ever made it big. Sleeping on gym floors and eating tuna for lunch every day. They paid their dues and learned the ins and outs of the business before making it big. Now a days, these wrestlers go from zero to being on the big stage. All they really know is to do exactly what they are told.

95% of the roster cant act.

WWE is full of talented wrestlers who are just awful on the mic and awful at acting or improvisation.

I see this being the major floor in WWE.

WWE drills into the performer's head that they need to follow the formula. That's how they're trained to think. Can't be surprised when they're not ready to improvise.
