Create a character of very high intelligence that meticulously cover their tracks and make it where the fans all "know" he actually did it, but there isn't enough proof for "charges" to stick or even be filed. Videos of the wife at a bar being a whore years ago would surface to discredit her. Like I said, it would never work if the angle was used on ever opponent, but on a high profile match it could work and could be built upon. He could be an arsonist that nearly killed the opponents whole family in another fued. Just an all around sick person that should be in jail, but is too smart to get caught

I thought of another one that I think could have a really interesting character arc: someone that made it to WWE under falses pretenses. Let's say they bring someone in as a babyface and promote them as having beat a really serious illness, like cancer, to finally reach the big leages. People would eat it up and the guy would be a hero in no time because everybody likes a feel good story.

However, at a certain point, someone reveals that this person never really had a disease and they've been lying the whole time. The character could say that they were always passed over and not given a fair shake so he made the whole thing up for sympathy and it worked. He could say that WWE jumped all over it for the sake of good publicity and how they used him just as much as he used them/us. A person with that kind of backstory could go from a beloved face to the biggest heel in the company in the span of about 5 minutes.
