Top 1000 is a little too much. To be honest, Triple H isn't that great of a wrestler as he is a character, but if you combine the two, he's still pretty good. One thing I have to remember is Bret wrestled in the 70's and beyond. He wrestled talents like Davey Boy Smith, Dynamite Kid, Ricky Steamboat, Andre The Giant, Mr Perfect, Chris Benoit and so many others, so I can see why he might feel that way.

Bret is a bigger star than HHH. He meant more to wrestling than HHH, he's more well liked than HHH.

Literally everything that HHH does, Bret did better. Even The Hart Foundation was better than Evolution. Opinions are opinions but a true wrestling fan would see where I'm coming from. And I don't mind Hunter.

Seriously the guy's about to face Brock Lesnar at WM and in all likely hood he is (was) about to get booed out of the building but thanks to Bret's rants the reaction he gets now might be slightly more in his favour now as a result.

I seriously think Triple H is miscast as a babyface at this point. He can't do the type of bumping necessary to carry it off. That's part of the reason he got the You Tapped Out chants. I don't think anything Bret says will play any role in getting him over with the crowd (which includes far more people than the IWC that pays attention to this sort of thing).

It all comes down to this - are you a wrestling fan, or a sports entertainment fan. HHH was far more entertaining, and took bigger risks (tacks anyone?). But from a pure wrestling perspective, Bret is correct. HHH is not good in the ring, his matches are universally the same. Like Orton.

But he looks good doing it, because he is willing to bleed. And looks tough. And has mike skills.

he married into the vince mcmahon family and got more power and a higher status than he would have otherwise. that's why someone like bret hart who accomplished what he did solely on his own talent and hard work hates his guts.

that and we've all read the rumors of how big of a dick triple h is behind the scenes. also, the number of times triple h held the belt is so much more than i realized. i'm understanding why bret feels the way he does. i know it sickened me to my stomach that hbk had to play the dumb sidekick to triple h's lead alpha male in the new 2 man DX. fucking ridiculous. triple h on his best day could never outwrestle hbk even after he hurt his back. but he plays the lead role cuz he married into the boss' family and no other reason. fuck triple h.
