Cena needs to be the leader of the shield.

He needs a change. And this is the first time I'm saying this about cena, but think of this... The shield have NEVER touched cena. That is really standing out to me.

Brock being the leader makes no sense

Heyman is too obvious. Maybe he can join with cena.

And so is punk. I think he's turning face soon

Just think of cena winning the rumble then shield interfering in punk/rock costing punk the title. Then cena comes out destroying rock and holding the title ending the show.

Cena could cut a great promo saying he's tired of the fans, coming off the worst year of his career.

This unlikely? Probably, but we can dream, right?

Top 10 all time favorites:

Stone Cold Steve Austin
The Undertaker
Shawn Michaels
Chris Jericho
Brock Lesnar
Kurt Angle
HHH
Edge
CM Punk
Kane (98-04)

Yeah that's not happening.

Not with all the merch and the little kiddies who adore him. They'd take a clear hit financially.

I'm pretty sure the Shield have attacked Cena.

Anyway, while it'd be cool to see the mythological heel turn come true, I just don't see it happening.

Re: Cena needs to be the leader of the shield.

Why does Cena NEED to be the leader? I mean why is it such a priority? All he need to do is turn heel on his own, or at least freshen up his character so that he's not such a fucking loser all the time.

Re: Cena needs to be the leader of the shield.

It would be a great way to turn him heel and freshen up his character, but there's no chance that is happening.

Re: Cena needs to be the leader of the shield.

Creatively, I agree. But for the reasons PG Era Sucks said, I don't see it happening.

It would be wonderful if Vince thought he could recreate the merch sales and buzz of the nWo as a heel stable with the Shield, I just don't think he has the faith to take such a risk. There's also no one ready to take the step to be the "face" face of the company if Cena vacates that spot. Furthermore, if Cena is the leader of the Shield and turns then where does that leave CM Punk? I'm just reminded of 1997 when Bret Hart was the top heel and Shawn Michaels turned heel which kind of pushed Bret to the back.

I think we all would love to see Cena as a heel but the timing and exigent circumstances just are not right at the present time.

Is it bright where you are? Have the people changed?

Re: Cena needs to be the leader of the shield.

Yeah lets give another rub to Cena the man who needs it the least. Regardless of him turning heel, Cena is the last man on earth who needs another top of the card storyline.

If/when Cena finally does turn heel, it will be one of the biggest pops he's gotten in a long time. It will just be an entirely different segment of the crowd doing the cheering.

Cena's going to be at the top of the card regardless of his face/heel alignment. I think making him the leader of the Shield would be more about the rub that Reigns/Ambrose/Rollins would get. He could rip off the Hulk Hogan line from the nWo that he's seen the future of wrestling and the Shield is that future. The endorsement could do a lot to legitimize those three guys.

Re: Cena needs to be the leader of the shield.

The Shield already attacked Cena so him being the leader of a group that attacked him wouldn't make sense. Also, why does the Shield need a leader in the first place? Why can't they just be a stable who makes their own orders rather than following them through a superior?
