Question regarding E&C vs Hardyz cage match Unforgiven

Ques1. Firstly, I just watched Hardy Boyz vs E&C Cage match from Unforgiven 2000 where Hardy got out of the cage within the first 5 mins... this looked like an accident as he was going to do his move off the top when he fell... any idea what went wrong?
