These stood out to me and irked me. Why didn't Jerry Lawler get worst TV announcer? He's by far the worst right now. Cole is decent.

Aces and Eights is listed as worst gimmick as if Brodus Clay doesn't exist. As if John Cena himself doesn't exist either. Or even better, Lord Tensai gimmick.

I also bet No surrender is listed as worst major show because Jeff Hardy made a jesus christ comeback to win the bound for glory series. that was the ONLY thing to be considered a downside

meanwhile John Cena and John Laurinatis stink up the arena in the main event over CM Punk and Daniel Bryan for the wwe championship at over the limit. that alone brings it down hard

Worst promotion better simply mean TNA sucks at advertising. because then id totally agree

I read whole threads so itís too much to quote, but a few questions came to mind:

Why would 1. the size of a promotion matter next to the quality of the wrestling, 2. it matter who the people voting on the quality are given that they actually enjoy the product? So since, regardless of what people want to think, WE ARE THE IWC, suddenly what smarks like is illegitimate, even though smarks have often said that marks don't really care about or know the difference between good/bad wrestlers, promos, etc? Sounds like a contradiction. Even if a promotion focuses more on the wrestling than the glitz and (attempts at) storylines, does that make it wrong that people still found it entertaining? Does not compute.

And J*ps is a derogatory term. Gotta keep them in their place, eh? Smdh

And I agree that, though A&8s are blah-worthy, they're at least better than Brodus Clay. He's a channel-turning catalyst.

Just because Okada had an old lady sing before his entrance at the biggest show of the year and Lance Archer came out in a motorcycle doesn't take way from the fact that NJPW is basically old-school puroresu. I've seen more elaborate entrances than those in MMA ffs (youtube Tom Lawlor and Mayhem Miller).

Wasn't NJPW sold last year for like 5 million dollars? That shows you how important the "number 1 promotion in Japan" is. I've seen horrible soccer players get transfered for the double of that. Tanahashi is in a spot where he has basically no opposition (TENSAI's old partner Karl Anderson is his next contender if I'm not mistaken, for example) and little responsability. He has the complete support of the company behind him. Punk has carried the company since Summerslam and when Cena was briefly injured he had 3 segments per RAW to fill time. A guy like Punk, who has been killing it on the mic, having good to great matches on a regular basis and, most importantly, being the champion for the entire year in a super competitive environment like the WWE, a position full of responsabilities in which you have to deliver at the highest level at all times, is absolutely phenomenal. 99% of the people who voted for Tanahashi don't even understand a word he said during the entire year and voted for him simply because he had a lot of **** star matches. To me, the Wrestler of the Year should be the guy who had the most impact on wrestling as a whole during that year and that person, 9 times out of 10, is from the WWE and in 2012 that person was undoubtedly CM Punk.

I'm here writing this long post for nothing since all you need to attest the credibility of these awards is to look at the "Commentator of the Year" where a guy who worked 15 matches the entire year won.
List Tanahashi's MOTYCs.

List Punks.

End of discussion.

And after NJPW sold 5 million dollars at the beginning of last year. Wrestling business in Japan become hot again. In just one year, everything in NJPW change. They're growing like 3 or 4 times from 2011. They continue to put the best "wrestling" show throughout 2012. I don't see any problem why they won a lot of awards this year.

And Tanahashi and CM Punk is a close call. Punk might be the best wrestle in many years from WWE to make so much impact. But well, Tanahashi is a the highest of his career right now. He just so charismatic. His "Aishitemasu" and hir Air Guitar are ridiculously over with fans. And he didn't have any single bad much for more then 2 years now. You can feel something special and epic when watching him perform. He's just that good. Punk is good, but he can be better. But it's WWE we are talking about.

Just because CM Punk was allowed to carry around a prop for a full year means nothing since he couldn't sniff a main event if Cena wasn't involved.

That's not how it works. That's why there's the "Most outstanding wrestler" category and the "Wrestler of the Year" category.

And if you were referring to me as a "belieber" you're simply an idiot.
