I'll admit to not being an "expert" or a die-hard follower of the product, or having even seen more than maybe a dozen bouts, but of the handful of NJPW matches I've seen, I felt like I was just watching sequels with each passing contest. To me, nothing stood out from the others I'd seen. And I don't just include the Japanese product in my viewpoint - I'd say the same thing applies to luchador promotions. Seen one - seem 'em all.

Just one man's opinion, regardless of how butthurt it seems to make those that feel it has to be defended at all costs.

Kaz and Daniels by far the best tag team, and Joseph Parks got the right award too. Goes to show that TNA is doing both a lot wrong and right lol. RAW is an exercise in masochism, to be honest though I thought Smackdown should've gotten that award.

Re: Wrestling Observer Awards for 2013 revealed

Wrestler of the Year: Hiroshi Tanahashi (NJPW) - CM Punk is the only right choice to this one. Tanahashi wrestles in a company that has 2 or 3 big shows a year. How is he better than a guy who's been champion for the entire year and has been saving RAW from mediocrity for months.
Most Outstanding Wrestler: Hiroshi Tanahasi (NJPW)
Best Box Office Draw: The Rock (WWE)
Feud of the Year: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Kazuchika Okada (NJPW) - How do they know the feud is good if they don't know japanese? They vote based solely on the matches?
Tag Team of the Year: Christopher Daniels and Kazarian (TNA)
Most Improved: Kazuchika Okada (NJPW)
Best on Interviews: CM Punk (WWE)
Most Charismatic: The Rock (WWE)
Best Technical Wrestler: Daniel Bryan (WWE) - Has won this award every year since 2005.
Bruiser Brody Memorial Award for Best Brawler: Kevin Steen (ROH)
Best Flying Wrestler: Kota Ibushi (Dramatic Dream Team)
Most Overrated: Ryback (WWE) - Overrated by who? He got pushed big and got over big. Had a good and a great match on PPV, plus a great TLC match on RAW. He rose to the ocasion when needed.
Most Underrated: Tyson Kidd (WWE) - Has the charisma of a brick and couldn't get over if his life depended on it. Johnny Curtis is the most underrated guy in wrestling, ever since his time in the old NXT.
Promotion of the Year: New Japan Pro Wrestling
Best Weekly Television Show: TNA Impact Wrestling
Match of the Year: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Minoru Suzuki - King of Pro Wrestling; Tokyo, Japan; October 8th (NJPW)
Rookie of the Year: Dinastía (Asistencia Asesoría y Administración)
Best Non-Wrestler: Paul Heyman (WWE) - Last win for Heyman in this category was in 2002
Best TV Announcer: Jim Ross (WWE) - 14 time winner in this category. - How many matches has he called? William Regal is the best announcer right now. JBL is a close second but returned too late to be considered. Ridiculous choice.
Worst TV Announcer: Michael Cole (WWE) - 4th consecutive year "winning" this category - He's been better as of late.
Best Major Show: King of Pro Wrestling (NJPW) - Really? Better than Extreme Rules? I've watched some of it but just can't get into it without understanding the commentators and those really silent crowds. And to be honest some of the matches are not as good as people make them out to be.
Worst Major Show: No Surrender (TNA) - Didn't watch but has some tough opposition.
Best Wrestling Maneuver: Kazuchika Okada - Rainmaker (Wrist lock into a short-arm lariat) (NJPW) - Can't understand why. When Neville debuts on the main roster he'll win this every year.
Most Disgusting Promotional Tactic: WWE broadcasting a dead Jerry Lawler being revived after a heart attack, and then having CM Punk and Paul Heyman mock the heart attack in front of Lawler (WWE) - Not a big deal. There's worse and more offensive stuff out there.
Worst TV Show: WWE Monday Night RAW
Worst Worked Match: John Cena vs. John Laurinaitis - Over the Limit (WWE) - Santino vs Rodriguez Tuxedo Match?
Worst Feud: John Cena vs. Kane (WWE)
Worst Promotion: TNA - Worst promotion has the best TV show?
Best Booker: Jado and Gedo (NJPW)
Best Gimmick: Joseph Park, Esq. - Lawyer brother of Abyss (TNA)
Worse Gimmick: Aces & Eights - Invading biker gang (TNA)
Best Pro Wrestling Book: Shooters: The Toughest Men in Professional Wrestling - Jonathan Snowden
Best Pro Wrestling DVD: CM Punk: Best in The World (WWE)

Also how did Team Hell No not win best tag team? They've been a staple of Raw and Smackdown for most of what I remember the last year. Even before they won the title. Individually and as a team DB and Kane have absolutely bossed late2011-2012.

And JBL deserves best announcer. He's frighteningly good.
seriously? read the fucking thread.

also Kaz and Daniels were equally entertaining and had better matches. JBL makes shit up on commentary which detracts from his value. these awards were voted on by many people. sorry that your favorites didn't win brother.

going to start negging people for asking dumb questions.

Switch Ryback and Tyson Kidd, then you have a winner.

Tony I would the take to understand the categories before making comments about them. Trust me.

The only joke here is your depth of opinion.

No you don't. You don't understand the award at all. What you think the award is measuring is completely different to what you think.

I didn't think Cole was that bad last year. it should have gone to Lawler but he probably got a pass this time since he had a heart attack.
