Default Paul Heyman and Steve Austin trash the WWE title

From BleacherReport:

Quote:
Through the years, the WWE has done their best to make its main title appealing.

Overall, they have done a solid job at changing with the climate, that is, until the release of its current design "The Spinner."

Let's face it, at one time this was a pretty sweet design, and with John Cena as champ, it served a purpose. However, much like Cena, the design has become a bit stale.

Yet, here we are close to eight years later, and for some reason, the company continues to stand by the design. Thankfully, we live in a social media world, so fans can find out what WWE's talent feels about the company and some of its ideas.

On Tuesday, Paul Heyman took to Twitter to tout Punk and bury the title's design. Shortly after, WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin concurred with Heyman's statement:

Paul Heyman: @CMPunk @WWE The belt itself leaves a lot to be desired, but that title means EVERYTHING!

Steve Austin: @HeymanHustle Wow. Agreed.

Ultimately, the company needs to change this design soon, especially considering we have been hearing about a rumored replacement for about a year now. Luckily for fans, it appears The Rock will be crowned WWE champ at the Royal Rumble, meaning the company could finally part ways with this design before February.

If the title does indeed change hands, it would be a perfect time to make the switch, especially considering there is no way "The People's Champ" will be rocking a title created for someone else. In the end, I guess we will have to wait and see if The Rock wins and whether a new title will debut on Raw.
Do you guys think the belt is that bad that it absolutely needs to be changed?

I personally only ''hated'' the belt when it actually was spinning, not saying I like it now but it doesn't bother me that much. Let's face it, the leaked images of the new belt (not confirmed of course) show that it is even uglier than the one WWE has now!

The thing that I don't understand is that the rumors/photos of the new belt have been on the Internet for over a year now, but WWE still hasn't changed it.

I guess as the article above says, Vince is actually saving it for a great superstar to introduce it, a superstar like The Rock for example. If The Great One actually wins at the RR, maybe, just maybe we will have a new title design.

They need to remove that fucking 'champ'. It's alright other than that.

I personally love the design. Agree that it's gotten a bit stale now, though.

this has been talked about by EVERY person to hold the belt.
no 1 likes it because it is 25 pounds so carrying it around is a paint in the ass BUT It's the biggest selling item on WWE Shop
So the only way i can see it being changed is Rock Changing the title after he wins it at RR/EC
as for that title its horrible worst than the *Spinner* that doesn't Spin

It has outstayed its welcome. It never really looked good on anyone other than Cena anyway.

My sources tell me that the April 29th Raw, will be the night the new belt debuts. Why? Because that day will mark 50 years of the WWE Championship.

The new design has already been completed, there was talk of debuting it at Punk's 365 days celebration, but they ultimately decided to wait until the anniversary date.

Imagine Bruno Sanmartino or Mr Backlund walking to the ring with title that says WWE "Champ"...

Lol.............sources.

Hope the belt design changes soon. I'd rather they head into WrestleMania with the new one instead of waiting until the event is over.

It's pretty fugly. It got even worse when Edge and Miz both made it "unique" in their own way.
