There were soldiers in the audience who complained, that's all the wiki page said so he did some Indy gigs for a year and wwe didn't take it too seriously since they hired him back. Feels a little harsh but understandable.
WWE had to be seen to doing something. So they sacked him with likely intentions of bringing him back down the line, which they did.
Finlay got released from WWE from a stunt he pulled at a house show with Miz interupting a troops tribute and it got him in hot water and thats what lead to his release. He was then re hired a year or two later and since then has been a road agent and hasent competed in the ring
Clever, although not true. Finlay could still outwork the majority of the WWE roster today. Just last year, at 53 years old at the time he had this match:
I'll take Finlay over Shemaus any day... give me a real Irishman not some Americanized Irish Cena.. maybe I'm being a bit harsh as I do kind of like Shemaus, just when compared to Shemaus, Finaly wins every time... so much attitude and character and someone I didn't actually mind Hornswoggle round either.
