More Gimmick Matches?
Anyone else think that WWE should have gimmick matches happening more often on Raw/SD?
Regardless of if there's blood or not for hardcore matches, I think it's something WWE NEEDS to have. Every single week it's the same old 5-6 matches(with 1-2 tag matches), all of them just the typical "the following contest is scheduled for 1 fall" with no stipulation or anything.
I think we need this more often. Doesn't matter if they don't become part of the memorable last man standing matches, falls count anywhere matches, cage matches in WWE history, WWE needs to have gimmick matches to make things more appealing.
I wouldn't mind having at least 1 gimmick match per show every week. Look at Cena-Ziggler cage match for example. Even though it ended basically same way as their one on one match the week before, the fact that it was inside a steel cage, made me more interested than if it were Cena-Ziggler one on one like normal.
Same with Del Rio-Big Show in the LMS match. If it was just normal one on one match, I wouldn't care as much. So I'm hoping many more people might feel the same way where regardless of the quality of the feuds and superstars in the matches, just having more gimmick matches could make you more interested in those matches.

There has to be a point for these matches and most times wwe just does gimmick matches for the sake of it and thoses bloody gimmick ppvs.

Re: More Gimmick Matches?
I'm for gimmick matches, but in moderation. For major gimmick styled matches (Championship Scramble, Ironman, 3 Stages of Hell, etc...), reserve those for PPVs/grudges, for blindfold/arm wrestling/blank on a pole matches, have them once every three+ weeks or so on the lesser shows for the low card superstars and divas.

Re: More Gimmick Matches?
Gimmick matches are supposed to be a rare occurrence, not a weekly thing. The way that hell in the cell/cage matches are being used now-a-days in an embarrassment to the awesome concept. That Punk/Ryback hell in the cell was unbearable to watch.

Re: More Gimmick Matches?
There doesn't have to be a point, good matches are good matches. While putting a gimmick doesn't make it good, most gimmick matches are actually good. I love them and wanna see them all the time.

But to be fair, would you rather just see plain 1 on 1 matches over and over and over again, or gimmick matches? While some things we see today might make some gimmicks not seem as good, it's still way better than the current format for match types. And the purpose of the matches isn't so much to improve the matches themselves, as it'd be to just gain more interest going into the match.
