Who cares? Lance lied, and ruined people along the way. I am sick to have ever worn a LiveStrong band, and supported him and his organization, knowing how the people behind it were only looking for personal gain.
I personally agree with Phil. Oh, right, this was Phil that said this, not CM Punk. I forgot, noone knows how to separate the two.

Let's put aside who cares. Obviously you lot do as this has generated three pages of thoughts. First off, he is right. Not because Lance used the stuff to win, that's a flaw of sports culture and america's desire to be the best in general. For better or worse, it is what it is.
What lance is a pussy for is hiding that he used and building an image based on wholesomeness. It's kind of like what cena does in the wwe, no? It's also culture's fault, for espousing 'perfect' idealized characters so much. Armstrong was SUCH a face.

WWE is filled with 'Good Ol' Boys' in power positions. It is just how it is, and I will keep calling WWE, Pro Wrestling in USA, as well as some of it's fans out on this because it is bollox. I do notice an apparent effort being made to mitigate this somewhat, but time will ultimately tell.

Who'd have though Armstrong would turn heel before John Cena? Hopefully Lance will put over the new stars that got over during the olympics, Wiggins can be the new face of cycling.

This. Punk says what his marks wants to hear. He shits on Armstrong because it's not gonna cause him any troubles. Saying a bad thing about Flair or Austin actually requires some balls, since he would get a lot of heat on backstage, so of course he's too scared/hypocritical to do that. I've already stopped giving a shit about his bitching on twitter, none of his attention seeking comments matters anything.

What would Punk have bad to say about either?
He respects both, and has said so in interviews (I'm 100% sure about Austin) and he has talked shit on Hogan, and others in interviews. I don't think Punk is afraid of any backlash... hence why he called out Jon Jones, Chris Brown, Lance Armstrong, The Catholic Church, among others. |
