Re: CM Punk's tweet about Lance Armstrong
I think the problem with this argument is that so many people are coming from the two extremes. Really, I don't care what he said, but this discussion is interesting to me because so many people ignore Punk's morals of convenience, that he could put a steroid user on blast while working with steroid users in an industry that enables steroid users. That's what I take from it. His opinion is valid as his opinion, but he could easily substitute a wrestler's name for Lance Armstrong's. How would some people feel if he said Orton or Cena was a pussy for using steroids? Not a Punk hater; I used to like him, but now I'm ambivalent and it's because of stuff like this. On the other hand, I can understand why people might say, "Well, why would he say something to other wrestlers when he's dependent on Vince McMahon to pay him?" I think that maybe because he cannot say it to wrestlers directly, he used Lance as an example. I think in a way he was really talking to wrestlers too. Because I try to look at things objectively, I wonder about this, but that might be giving him too much credit, because he is a legit a-hole. That is part of his appeal after all, no?
