Re: The greatest promo you have ever seen?

Hollywood Rock closing the greatest rivalry in the history of the industry with one last classic promo is up there but this is on another level:

JR described it perfectly:

"It's as if time has stood still"

Simply magic and surreality that you will never see ever again. The atmosphere, the intensity and just the realization that you're watching the two biggest stars of all time The Rock and Hulk Hogan in the same ring is something I will never forget. IMO. This was then, still now and always will be, the greatest moment in the history of the business.

Re: The greatest promo you have ever seen?

I'll give you my Top 5 in no order

1. Punkbomb [June 2011]

It is one of the GREATEST promos of all time and will always leave a resounding message in the hearts of wrestling die-hards forever.

2. Stone Cold's shoot promo on Eric Bischoff from ECW 1995

You could really tell that he was pissed about getting fired from WCW and expressed his feelings the way he knew how. To me, THIS was the birth of Stone Cold and this would change his career.

3. Birth of Austin 3:16 King Of The Ring 1996

Even though I said that the Austin promo from ECW was THE birth of Stone Cold, this is the promo that made him a superstar and he will always be remembered for this promo. The ribbing of Jake and his beliefs were hilarious.
I like the line: "You sit there and thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere"!!!
"Talk about your Psalms, talk about John 3:16, Austin 3:16 said I just whipped your ass" Classic.

4. Bret Hart screwed promo from 1997

This was the beginning of the end of Bret Hart's WWE run. He was upset about constantly being screwed out of the WWE Championship by management as well as Stone Cold. And boy did he go off on Vince!!! "Frustrated isn't the god damn word for it, this is bullshit". This is a precursor to what we would get with the Attitude Era.

5. Raw is Jericho [August 1999]

When Jericho interrupted Rock during his promo, you knew that he was going to be a big star. I like how when he claimed WWE was doing bad in the ratings and how he would boost them. Nobody really knew who he was except for WCW fans and he sent a strong message to the locker room that he was going to make his mark

Re: The greatest promo you have ever seen?

My favorite promos are...

Don't need to explain.

Stone Cold's promo after Wrestlemania 13. "Whether I'm a Good Guy, and the people cheer me; or a Bad Guy and they boo the hell out of me... It doesn't make a damn". It's not on youtube anymore (sadness).

I am an All Time Great.

Re: The greatest promo you have ever seen?

Brian Pillman showing up on ECW, shooting on Bischoff and the fans themselves lol.

"You know what a mark is? A mark is a guy who pays his last 20 dollars of ******. A mark, is a guy who believes *pause* that OJ is innocent. And a mark is each and every one of you sorry sons of ******!" Then threatening to piss in the ring, fans chanting "let him piss!" lmfao

His intensity and delivery was on a whole nother level. Pillman IMO doesn't get nearly enough credit for being a pioneer in the attitude era.

Oh you were not aware of this?
