WWE studios mostly makes movies that go straight to DVD's.The Rock wants to do movies but also wrestle so if the Rock does movies with WWE studios he would be able to put the WWE studios on map in Hollywood because of his popularity and star power. He will also be able to associate himself part time with the company in a better way and also wrestle.
-Rock is going in the right direction. His biggest movie outside of sequels and spinoffs grossed just 150 million. So he needs to be involved in Multi-starrers and franchises before finally eatablishing himself becoming as an A-List star
then he would do it for free and only pick stuff that deserves to even exist period in conjunction with the price of admission, as apposed to stuff that shouldn't see the light of day in the wastland known as modern day popculture
im sure he has made enough to retire by now, even if it means having to move into a smaller house
Yeah, why wouldn't Rock turn down huge films to work on B movies, and at the same time lose a truck load of money and then risk his health in his 40's by wrestling.
Why would Rock do films for that joke of a studio when he can get top dollar at a major studio? Vince is a joke in Hollywood, most people don't even know he has a studio. He literally has no pull in Hollywood at all, just a pretender.
WWE Studios sucks (although the new movie with Wade Barrett & Colin Farrel looks it might be good and maybe that Halle Berry & Otunga movie). They are horrible.
And The Rock too good of high profile actor for that nonsense.
Yes this is daft and the movies are always poor, but if WWE managed to get The Rock to star in one of their movies then it would help them massively. Does WWE have any involvement in The Rocks TV show?
If the Colin Farrel WWE co-produced movie is a success then who knows?
Isn't The Condemned a WWE Studio movie? I thought that was better than anything The Rock has done to be fair. But yeah like others have said, no one really takes WWE Studios seriously and I'm sure he wants to be held in high respect.
Why would he do movies with the WWE studio? Maybe back in the toothfairy days but now he's a legit movie star imo, getting roles in G.I Joe and F&F etc, this would be a major stepback, what would you suggest he do? Be in the next Marine lol?
Besides The Rundown and Condemned, I haven't seen another movie from WWE Studios that I enjoyed. As much of a fan of Rock's as I am. Him wrestling on an actual part-time schedule again (not counting currently), wouldn't really do him any good. If he wants to be respected and move up in the world of acting. Doing films with WWE Studios isn't going to cut it.
This is like saying why not sign with TNA. Regardless of your opinion of the product, they're paying much less money because fewer ppl buy the product. And he wouldn't put WWE Studios on the map, it would marginalize Rock as a WWE guy, something he's spent yrs trying to get away from. Only when he established himself as a great actor, and realized that time was running out to play a comeback role in WWE, did Rock return. Had he been doing 1-2 matches a yr with WWE this entire time he wouldn't have gotten the movie deals he got.
In order to get WWE Movies to the quality level that the Rock would be satisfied, he's have to used his pull to get them to hire a better director, better co-stars, better writers, a better film crew and better distribution... he'd probably be better getting them to hide the fact that it's made by the WWE until WWE films have a better record of films on their books.
...so he can either change everything about WWE or he can just make films with a better company.
Because WWE Studios won't make him MILLIONS OF DOLLAHS
