Diva's divison at all time low: Down to 10 female wrestlers on main roster

With the loss of Eve, I would just like to point out that there are only 10 Diva's left on the main Roster. 10. Half of which are being used as valets. At this rate there's risk of the diva's divison going extinct. I mean like the dinosaurs. Let's take a look at the women we have left

AJ Lee -

Well this ones not going anywhere. Easily most over diva on the roster, was well liked, and they turned her heel. I think a babyface AJ winning the diva's title for the first time at Wrestlemania would have/could have been a big moment for her. Now I have no idea what there going to do with her, she's directionless. IMO the pair up with Ziggler is hurting them both. I like Ziggler and I like AJ, but I hate Ziggler and AJ. If you know what I mean.

Aksana -

Not very good wrestler IMO. Doesn't get much TV time. Directionless at the moment.

Alicia Fox -

Hasn't been seen on TV for months. (At least I havnt, but could have missed it somewhere or just not remembered because she's so forgetable)

Cameron -

Valet for Funkasaurus. (How the fuck do you spell that again?)

Kaitlyn -

Has been noted that she's green in the ring besides being YOUR DIVAS CHAMPION.

Layla -

Lost the title and has since been put on the back burner. Barely showcased in matches on raw or smackdown.

Naomi -

2nd valet for the funkman.

Natalya-

Probably the most technical sound diva on the roster, and has since been given a farting gimmick and paired with the circus clowns, Khali and Hornswoggle

Rosa Mendes -

Valet for Primo/Epico. Hardly ever has matches.

Tamina Snuka -

Decent worker but they hardly use her at all either.

Where can they go with a roster like this? I expect some NxT diva's to be called up soon. Maybe some knockouts will quit/contract expire and come to WWE now that the TNA lawsuit is up. there's only 2 divas out of 10 that are currently involved in some sort of storyline (Katilyn, AJ). About half of them are garbage in the ring, which in turn could be one of the reasons why no one cares to see Divas matches anymore. There is simply nothing to get invested in. No reason to care. The closest thing we had to a divas storyline last year was the Eve/wig conspiracy and even that was half-assed. Will WWE ever get their shit together and start focusing on rehabing the divas division?

The problem I have is how careless they've treated the division. Sure, I get all those "you don't go to Burger King expecting a 5-star meal" analogies but why have something on the menu that you're just intentionally going to mess up while cooking? Either fix it up to at least make it presentable or scrap it altogether. Don't do it quarter-assed. I'd be perfectly fine them reverting back to the late 80's through the mid 90's when all the women were nothing but valets or having some onscreen position.

It may be the lowest it's been in a while, but certainly not all time. I remember a time when the division included just Sable and Jackie, and maybe Luna thrown in later. Or don't get me started on Alundra Blayze's reign. The division didn't really pick up til after Lita beat Stephanie for the title. Maybe you're only counting when they introduced the Divas title and not the Womens, so in that case you're right.

Anyways I'm not sure the WWE care that much, but maybe they plan on calling up developmental divas. Or maybe they aren't capable of concentrating on too much at one time. I can see Vince now, 'Dammit we're giving them tag teams what more do they want from us?'

Who cares about Eve. She was a nobody and unover. Kharma getting pushed out was insane though. Bring in Kana, Melissa, push Britani Knight out of that FCW shit, and let Naomi do what she's supposed to be doing and things would be on the right level. It's hilarious how Kana is not being pursued since she's a better worker than anybody in the E except for Daniel Bryan.

The Diva's division is in a period of transition right now. It is not the worst it has ever been. The WWE tends to cycle talent through as it seems they are unwilling to pay very much for women wrestlers. I don't really like to see a attractive athletic woman like Eve leave. In my opinion she is what the WWE should want all the Diva's to be like instead of getting models and later training them in wrestling. Like so many I could name. Some have said that Kaitlyn is green as hell and is a bad sign for the future. Well there is some truth to that but I think the WWE is trying to build up their newer Diva's to try to get them to forget the ones that left reciently. Kaitlyn kind of reminds me of John Cena. She is not the best technical wrestler but she has strength and power. I also think Paige should be brought up to the main division ASAP.

Well the division certainly is at a very low point at the moment. That's what you get for treating talented workers like Gail Kim and Mickie James like shit. I'm surprised that Natalya is still there. The division is in such a state and yet they still refuse to push her or use her correctly. AJ is still not being allowed to wrestle regularly and is still being used as a valet when she could be so much more yet they are having Aksana who can't work for shit wrestle on Television. It's completely ass backwards. The fact is:

* They should have never turned AJ heel as she was the most over diva in years.

* Aksana should go back to being a heel valet

* I've pretty much given up on WWE using Natalya properly. I'm convinced that they have some personal issues with her. How they cannot see that Natalya could be a credible divas champion at this point is absolutely beyond me.

* Kaitlyn is not the worst choice you could make as champion right now but she's green and she isn't ready. Still it could be a lot worse.

The very first things WWE should do with the division if they want to revive it are:

* Have AJ wrestle full time. Heel or face, either way. As of right now, she's the diva to build the division around.

* Put the divas in their proper roles and know their limitations. Put Aksana back as a valet, have Naomi become a full time competitor and let Natalya wrestle! And fire that useless bitch Cameron.

* Call up some of the NXT stars, at the very least call up Paige.

* Work on Kaitlyn's character, aside from the hometown pop she got casuals could care less about her. That needs to be worked on, especially if A) WWE are serious about rebuilding the division and B) They put Kaitlyn in a feud with AJ till Mania.

* Put Sara Del Rey on the main roster and let her become a full time talent. For the love of god WWE need someone like her in the division right now.

* Go out and scout the best independent women's wrestlers and sign them. The divas search will not help WWE in the long run because for every Eve you get you have about 10 who are useless and are only there to be on TV. At least you would know that the people you hire care about the business and want to be there.

If not, you might as well just scrap the division all together and keep the women who can be good at being valets or TV stars for the product.

Good. It should. It should have a long time ago. WWE will never let the women upstage the men & they will never be taken credibly in the "boys club" of WWE, so stop wasting time, money & resources on an inferior product.

The sad thing is, WWE could have an amazing female division, with great workers, capable of putting on good matches between women with talent & depth to their character. Even providing some role models to young girls, like the women of Joshi in Japan. WWE will just never do it.

Common sense goes completely out the window in WWE. They either hire non-wrestlers (models) & try to make them work, or they hire wrestlers (non-models) & have them not work. It's such a backwards mentality.

Everyone talking about Paige being the savoir is just lying to themselves. She's not a great worker in the first place but she is young & pretty. I think more than anything, it's just people holding onto hope, for whatever reason. Honestly though, the women's division doesn't add anything to the product. It hasn't for years. It arguably hasn't ever in WWE.

I don't think Paige would be a savior of the Diva's division but I have seen her work in FCW and NXT and some indy stuff and she has potential to be a star. I would say she is capable of being a good worker given a chance. She comes from a family in the wrestling business so she is awair of the realities of the business. I think she needs to be brought up to the main Divas division and begin to develop on a bigger stage. Just bear in mind that she is only 20 years old and has been wrestling for years now and most Diva's do not even start learning until they are much older.

Yeah well here's the problem with what's left too:

AJ Lee: Gets way too much mic time considering her limited mic skills. Is okay in the ring.

Aksana: is terrible

Alicia Fox: She's fairly decent in the ring, but no better than an average of the past.

Cameron: Little more than a dancer, but at least she does that well.

Kaitlyn: One of the worst on the roster

Layla: Hot, but mediocre and slow wrestler

Naomi: She's actually pretty good, top 3 behind Natalya and Tamina in ring, #1 in presentation, but probably #2 overall behind Natalya

Natalya: Best diva left. At worst she's #2, and barely. But you'd have to provide a pretty sound argument to claim she isn't the best one left.

Rosa: Awful in ring. Possibly the worst one. She's a decent manager though.

Tamina: Good wrestler, but doesn't seem great on the mic and is kind of ugly (meaning Vince likely won't push her).

You could literally fire half the remaining divas and barely notice.

WWE let go their best diva every time they got established. Melina was the best diva since Trish and Lita. . .gone. Beth was the best diva since Melina got fired. . .then she gets fired. Eve was arguably the best remaining diva. . .and she quit.

Time to stop pushing models Vince. If he's gonna use female wrestlers, he should make sure they're at least actual athletes first. Natalya, Tamina, and Naomi should be used the most since they're the ones closest to being able to put on a real match, and then he can sprinkle in eye candy like Layla and whoever every now and then.

Alicia Fox is terrible in the ring. Not sure where you're getting ''decent'' from. I've never seen her wrestle a good match (by divas standards) and she used to botch moves often, and unnecessarily oversell moves to point where you'd think she injured herself. It's probably these reasons why you hardly ever see her wrestle anymore. Just another un-talented model diva.

This is something WWE have brought on themselves, They were firing-happy a couple of years back letting Tiffany go when she was starting to come into her own, Firing Maria and Melina, Maryse, & Mickie, embarrassing the latter on her way out. Misusing Divas who had potential like Maxine, so she ended up choosing to leave herself. Treating Gail Kim so bad, She quit. Having a damn fine worker in Naomi dancing with jiggly tits, Having another fine worker in AJ Lee in love angle after love angle after love angle, She probably only wrestled 10 matches on TV last year. Firing Divas in Developmental who had potential to be big stars on the main roster like Sofia Cortez..

Kaitlyn doesn't really have a veteran there now, who can guide her, for example when Candice Michelle was womens champion, She had Melina and Beth who carried her to a certain extent, who made her look good, which helped her title reign, Kaitlyn doesn't have a Melina or a Beth to fight with.. Theres Nattie, but lets face it, She won't be getting any title feuds any time soon...

This situation they are in, is their own doing, Its like a domino effect...

preferedly every division should have at least 11 members/teams, 1 champion(s) and 10 contenders, nice and simple right?
