Superstars/Stables named after popular things

In WWE(especially today) we might just have generic names like "Jack Jackson" or "John Jackson"(nobody uses these actual names in WWE, but you get the point), but many times we've gotten superstars whose name is based off something popular. What are all other examples people can think of? I'm not talking about something such as Raven being named after a Raven or something like that. I mean ones like:

Lex Luger(after Superman villain Lex Luthor)
Hulk Hogan(after of course, The Hulk)
Rey Mysterio(I know it's taken after his uncle, but when it was changed to "Mysterio" could it be because of the Spiderman villain Mysterio?)

And more recent ones:
Nexus(after the phone)
Shield(I'm guessing it's named after the Marvel group "S.H.I.E.L.D")

Nexus weren't named after a phone, lol. Nexus is like a hub of ideas, a big group of connections or a place where things are controlled. That would be like saying Evolution were named after the 2001 film.

But Nexus phone didn't get released until early 2010, a few months before WWE introduced Nexus stable. Not saying the phone was only thing ever called Nexus, but just seemed strange WWE would bring in a group called Nexus, around time a phone called Nexus was made

John Morrison was based off Jim Morrison obviously. The Big Show-well he is big and he thinks he is entertaining. Can't think of much more.

Check out the pilot for my webshow WISHFUL THINKING. It is a show about a college student who fucks up his day and a Genie grants him the opportunity to do it all over again and he finds new and creative ways to fuck it up even more.

The Test: Rob gets caught cheating on a test and has a chance to go back and do it again

Watch Episode 3 of WISHFUL THINKING.
The Date: Rob tries not to fuck up a hot date and does it anyways.

I thoght his name was from the Nazi artist Adolph Ziegler, someone Hitler considered perfection?

X-Pac/2Pac, Road Dogg/Snoop Dogg, Bad Ass Billy Gun/Bad Azz.
Kane might have been a combo between Caine and the rapper Big Daddy Kane.
Buff Daddy/Puff Daddy, Big Poppa Pump/Notorious B.I.G.'s song Big Poppa.
Disco Inferno changed his name to Disqo after Sisqo. Prince Iaukea became The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea after Prince.
Glacier was inspired by Mortal Kombat's Subzero.
The KISS Demon.
Rey Mysterio and Konnan for a little while were called The No Limit Soldiers when they were working with Master P.
Undertaker was American Badass, a Kid Rock song.
Jericho called himself Y2J after the whole Y2K scare.
The Shield I believe has more to do will police, shield being slang for badge. There's a show called The Shield which I believe has corrupt police officers. Makes more sense than Marvel's S.H.I.E.D.
Taz, after the Tasmania devil.

There's more, I will post as I think of them.

This thread should be Origin of Names.

I believe Kenny Dykstra was named after his favorite baseball player in Lenny Dykstra (huge douche).

Van Hammer...Van Halen.

Four Horsemen from the Bible.

New World Order is a phrase used since World War II.

Stone Cold from the Brian Bosworth film.

Rock probably from Don Muraco, who also used the nickname.

Hulk from the comic book character.

Re: Superstars/Stables named after popular things

Well I know Brodus Clay is named after Snoop Dogg's real name Calvin Broadus, who Clay used to bodyguard for.
Dont know for sure, but Big E Langston possibly after Biggie Smalls, as his name in FCW for a while was Biggie Langston, so its possible.
I read that Edge got his name from a Canadian radio station.
Booker T got his name from Booker T Washington.
