This roster has the potential to be great and even equal the attitude era.
Please do not think this thread is a troll or to fight over which is better but lately I've realized just how strong this roster can potentially be, and I see myself personally liking a lot more wrestlers now, while it isn't at the level of the attitude era, I don't think it's because the roster is weak but they just don't have that storyline strength and they save really good ones for returning guys as opposed to new talent...
I think the only other problem is that we don't get those matches like what the shield/ryback and team hell no did, which those matches are what really made the attitude era special imo.
But right now, I can definitely say it is a good time to be a fan, I enjoy most of the roster and I think that the future is good for the wwe, and that they won't have to rely on people coming back as much.
The only real issue I honestly have with the actual roster is that they don't have that guy who can replace cena, but that's only one guy and they will find him sooner or later, or does anyone think that there is a guy on the roster who you believe can be the top guy? Not someone the wwe is going for but who you think and would put as your top guy?
So what do you guys think? Is the talent there, or do you think this is one of the weakest rosters ever? Or do you just feel mediocre about it? I'd like to know what everyone's stance is on the roster here and I'd have no problem debating over why I think this roster is close to being one of the best.

It's hard to say, since WWE Creative does a lot to make these guys look god awful. Still, I'd say know. None of these guys are even close to being as charismatic as the guys from the past. I'm not even one of the rabid AE marks around here, and I'll say that. Still, we really can't tell right now because the talent is being treated like absolute crap, but I can't see it happening.

Yeah I can definitely see where your coming from, which is why I'm looking at potential, and looking at the people who refuse to get any better of grow, the kofis and zack Ryder's, are definitely the weakest parts of the roster...
But I do think there is charisma on some, are they gonna out rank the top five stars of the attitude era, probably not, but I do believe they are on the same level as the rest of the roster back then...

Re: This roster has the potential to be great and even equal the attitude era.
I love the current roster, too, primarily Punk, Ziggler, Sheamus, Del Rio (and I think Cesaro and Bryan will be great, if they aren't now)
Thing is, we don't have someone on the level of Rock or Austin, or even Cena. Maybe, maybe, Ziggler can be that good as a face. He's just so refreshing every time he's out there, and his arrogance is perfect for an anti-hero. He's the only guy I think. Punk got boring as a face (and I love Punk; I cheer for him as a heel), and is just so good as a heel. Other then Ziggler, I don't know.
Oh, and I cannot begin to glorify Dean Ambrose. He shocked me when he opened his mouth during the first Shield interview. He had it before Vince met him. And he's not a funny, cocky heel that so many heel fans like myself fall in love with, he's actually just a cruel, crazy bastard. The issue with him is can a face match his awesomeness as a heel.
Can we just get one face as exciting and unpredictable as Rock/Austin? Just ONE, and the rest of this roster will be enough to support him. That's the question. Sheamus and Del Rio are as old as Cena, and they're not as good as Cena even though I like them more. And Cena's not Rock/Austin.

WWF was never really known for it's roster. That was always WCW's thing. WWF just happened to captivate more and get you to care a lot more for it's fewer stars. I feel the same now about WWE's roster today. A few that I care to watch, but in a big way.

I agree. The roster is very strong nowadays, the only thing they are lacking is proper booking.

Funny how alot of people cry for change but really just want the same old shit. Also funny is that Vince at one time was giving fans the same old shit until he realized that he needed to change, and the Attitude Era was born.

Re: This roster has the potential to be great and even equal the attitude era.
But having a potential is nothing if you can't properly uses it and that the problem with the WWE right now. They don't know how to create a star and that's one of the thing that made 2012 a rfailure in my eyes. They need to create new guys and fast. If in TNA, there is a big amount of guys who can Main-Event, there isn't 5 wrestlers who can Main-Event on the WWE ( and I don't talk about talent but credibility )

Re: This roster has the potential to be great and even equal the attitude era.
I agree on some points, there are guys in this roster that I believe in 2-3 times will be huge (ziggler, cesaro, ambrose etc). They have the talent, now its time to build them into stars which will take time but like I said 2-3 years time WWE will be very very strong in my opinion.
