Re: WWE release Trent Baretta (POSSIBLY MORE TO COME)
LOL at anyone who thinks Ryder is getting released. He sells merch without even being on TV. Come on now.
Same with anyone who thinks Vince is going to release any of the 5 Divas he has left. Because then he'd have to, you know, find new ones. Which would be effort. For the Divas division. Do you really see that happening?
Besides, apparently Eve is over it, and I can't imagine Natalya putting up with this crap for a whole lot longer, so Diva releases will continue to take care of themselves as people get fed up and leave.
I can see Camacho, Hawkins, and whoever Percy Watson is getting released.
I think Big Zeke and Mason Ryan will have a place as long as they want it, even if that place is NXT or Superstars, solely because it's always useful to have a few big guys on the roster either to put people over or to use in random heel stables as enforcers. I can't imagine either of them gets paid for shit anyways.
Tatsu and JTG I'm torn on, mainly because WWE has to be careful when they release minorities because they're always in such deep shit for being so openly and stupidly racist. Plus Tatsu is (I think) legit the only Asian on the roster.
Tensai might be gone soon, I imagine he's getting paid way more than what his actual value to them is, although they might try to get away with restructuring his contract and continuing to use him to put people over.
Alex Riley is a marketable babyface, they'll hold on to him for awhile and someday maybe do something with him, but if they let him go he's be a great pickup for TNA because of how marketable his pretty face is, which is exactly why Vince will keep him. Same for DiBiase -- if he goes it's going to be because he wants, not Vince.
Swagger I'm legitimately torn on. He probably gets paid far more than he's worth, he might not be salvageable even with a face turn, and he's ridiculous. TNA might try to pick him up but I don't think they'll get any further than WWE did with him. Maybe if he gets some kind of reconstructive jaw surgery to fix that lisp, and I'm quite serious.
McGillicutty should be fine -- apparently HHH is high on him, and I can't imagine it would take much more to fix him than a name change, tbh. Even if he never goes beyond the midcard, he's still a useful asset. Just give him a new name.
And while we're talking about releases, can I just throw Bo Dallas into the "won't be released but really ought to be" mix?
