People always talk about potential Cena heel turns, but this one I guess is a heel turn, but it's not so much about his character or the impact Cena as a heel will be on WWE, but the overall reaction of this scenario.

What if Cena became this complete opposite of his "Marine character" and started supporting a country in the middle east or a country like that, and bashing the US troops. Would he get similar heat as Sgt.Slaughter? Would WWE even get in trouble for doing/saying things like that? Could fans also be sending him death threats like they did to Slaughter, and he'd have to travel with full security at all times?

First why would the WWE do that?

Second yes Cena would get crazy heat, beyond Sgt. Slaughter.

Slaughter was far from the top star in the sport when he flipped. He was an unemployed Wrestler and a mid level cartoon character on the level of the micro machine guy.

I doubt we would ever see this occur in today's current product. This sort of heel tactic seems to be taboo in wrestling today. It's a shame too because this sort of thing would make for an ultimate heel but it wouldn't fly due to the touchiness of today's P.C society.

Slaughter wanted a comeback and Vince only wanted him back as a heel, so he really had no choice. But Cena does. I doubt he would ever have the balls to try to pull something off like that. If he did, it would no doubt work, tons of heat and there really would be no going back once he pulled the trigger.

If this was TV-14? Yes.

The WWE has shown little flashes & glimpses of edgy content in a PG era for the past few months but doing something like this would be pushing that TV rating.

be in the WWE as far as Cena goes he gets heat and
threats on a daily tbh,but folks are'nt into Punk
like they were Cena so with him being the face of

Are you new to wrestling? The guy was main eventing with guys like Hogan and he was so over as a heel his wife needed security and even hid at a friends house because of the death threats.
