Re: Explain how Goldberg is still awesome and Ryback sucks?

Every wrestler starts out as a ripoff of some sorts, they want them to channel certain elements of past performers. Though, the aspect that makes or breaks a character is whether they manage to make their character their own. Goldberg felt like he was his own character, Ryback just feels artificial.

Goldberg has successfully picked up Paul Heyman dozens of times

he also didn't move like he was shoulder deep in water, but mainly the Heyman thing

Re: Explain how Goldberg is still awesome and Ryback sucks?

To anyone with half a brain cell it's obvious, but for all the idiots on here, and there are a lot of them;

- Goldberg had a shit load more natural charisma.
- Goldberg had a much more genuine aura about him.
- Goldberg was quite clearly a far better, faster, more powerful athlete.
- Goldberg had a better, more varied move set.
- Goldberg looked more intimidating.
- Goldberg was the original, and no rip off, poor mans, wannabe who is beneath him in every way is ever going to over shadow him.

Everything about Ryback feels forced and unoriginal, everything about Goldberg looked and felt natural.

I'm a Ryback fan but this is pretty obvious. It's all mentioned above.

I remember watching the elimination chamber in 2003 and Goldberg cleaning house. Something I will never forget. He had such huge speed for someone his size and his strength was wicked too. Ryback gets tired and slows down all the god damn time.

Re: Explain how Goldberg is still awesome and Ryback sucks?

because goldberg doesnt look like a big huge slow freak of a man...

goldberg was big but not huge, he had incredible strength and was fast in the ring.
ryback is huge. isnt as strong as he looks, and is soo slow you could run rings round him...

so one looks intense fast athletic and inescapable.

the other looks intense and easy to escape.

also add to that goldbergs intensity and presence felt more legit than rybacks overly done im crazy eyes foamy mouth look.

also goldberg didnt have a cheesy shit line " feed me more " to take away from his im badass gimmick.

I was considering that. If Ryback existed back then, would people be chanting "Ryyyyback" at Goldberg now? It's a valid question, and one hard to be sure of since we cannot swap them from one time to another. But I certainly can easily see Goldberg not being over with the IWC at all in 2013, acting the same exact way he did in the late 90's in 2013.

I'm not sure that Goldberg's intensity is that much better than Ryback's. His was good, but Ryback's is good too. The WWE has done a better job of making him look "beatable" than WCW did Goldberg is a difference between them.
