We’re breaking news here. We have been told by several sources that El Generico has been signed to the WWE. We talk about it here. But we do also cover a lot including some exclusive insight into the EVOLVE Title Tournament and we talk about a ton of other news including DGUSA, D1W, SHINE, PWG, PWX, CZW and more. Check it out and tell your friends.

I hope it works out for him. Can't say there's anyone in wrestling that doesn't deserve it more than him. A big blow to the indies though.

If it's true then good for him. I'm a little hesitant though because he doesn't have the look and I feel that sometimes the WWE just signs guys who are hot in order to cool them down. Hopefully I'm wrong and they do something with him. Seeing as a lot of indy guys are doing well in the WWE, I hope the same happens for him.

He deserves it. He's been busting his ass since he left ROH, working everywhere and anywhere. He's improved even further, got his name out there and shown how much he wants to succeed.

He's the best babyface in professional wrestling and deserves the chance to show that on the biggest stage, he has that sort of hook with ordinary fans and kids that will set him well. He could easily be as popular as Mysterio, imo.

Its good to see a guy who has put in alot of hard work make it. Now we have to hold our breathe and see how WWE pushes him. you never know with vince and creative

The closest I feel to El Generico in WWE is Kofi Kingston but even thats a bit of a stretch due to Generico having more charisma and being better in the ring and Kofi having a better look and more appeal to the casual audience.

Anyway hope WWE treat him right as he deserves at least a good I.C title run.

If this is truth i congratulate him and all of that but the real question seems to be:

What the fuck they will do with him? and they will keep the mask?

i have faith in him, but WWE seems to screw with people who get over out of his own terms, see Ryder for example

El Generico signs with WWE

"WWE has done it again. According to PWPonderings (in a special podcast), "multiple sources have now confirmed to them" that indie wrestling god, and one of the best wrestlers in the world, El Generico, has just inked a deal with WWE. El Generico recently pulled out of PWG's DDT4, and now we know why. The signing continues WWE's trend in the past couple of years of signing up the top talent from the ranks of the indie circuit to fill up its roster. El Generico joins the likes of Antonio Cesaro, Dean Ambrose, Kashius Ohno, Seth Rollins, and Adrian Neville as recent indie acquisitions by WWE. For those of you unfamiliar with El Generico (shame on you) I will provide you a primer on him soon. Until then, here is a taste of what is coming to WWE: OLE!"
I'm not too sure how credible the source is, but if this is true it's AWESOME!

Now they need to bring Kevin Steen and give him a Samoa Joe push.

Re: El Generico signs with WWE

He looks like a jobber & he'll never draw a dime. The shit he's done on the Indies, WWE will never let him do. I also highly doubt they refer to him as "the generic luchadore." Good for him, I hope he makes a lot of money. Why any fan of his would be happy about this news though, other than just being happy for him getting paid more, I have no idea. The Briscoes didn't look the part, but Generico does? Cabana wasn't good enough, but Generico is? What kind of logic is that? WWE are 'tarded.

And there's no way in hell WWE ever touch Kevin Steen with a 10-foot-pole. He looks like the local slob at the town bar. C'mon, man. People have to PAY to see these fucking guys, remember?????????????

Wow he's gonna have to be really toned down in the ring for Sin Cara not to appear utterly obsolete.

Absolutely love that WWE has been bringing in all this great seasoned Indy talent recently. I shudder to think about the future of WWE if they had relied on the WWE-bred guys.

It's like they've suddenly woken up and are treating the indy leagues as the equivalent to the territories. The talent have been plying their trade else where.

All the WWE then do (good or bad) is try to repackage guys. I hope they don't fuck about too much with Generico.

I wish him all the success in the world - no one has deserved it more since Danielson made the move. He's definitely chosen the prime time to go for it in terms of indie names becoming mainstream stars, but so much depends on whether this signals the demise of El Generico as we know him.
Fingers crossed it's the same scenario as CM Punk and he gets to keep his persona.

Re: El Generico signs with WWE

To be fair, Sin Cara is a real luchador. El Generico is a white guy pretending to be a luchador.

El Generico is a very talented wrestler, but I'm not sure if I can be happy with his signing. WWE has already hurt the wrestling industry by creating a monopoly. I feel that cherry picking all the big name indy wrestlers will only hurt it further.
El Generico may be from Montreal but he's also from Mexican descent, so she has a point! I'm most concerned with WWE signing all the best indy talent and continuing to strip their movesets down to nothing fpalm.

Re: El Generico signs with WWE

Probably a good thing he joins WWE and gets his moveset watered down , before he kills someone , some of his moves are too dangerous and there was even a few botches on that video that was posted in this thread , besides i cant really imgaine anyone other than maybe sin cara being too keen on facing him to sell his moves , which may cause him to just end up jobbing .

Close your eyes and imagine that chant with Generico in the middle of the ring...

Now go change your underwear.
