Alvarez said that due to the success of CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, the Shield that HHH has realized that indy guys can work. Guess El Generico is a HHH guy.
He also said that he didn't speak to any higher ups on El Generico, but he spoke to some people and they speculated that he was losing his gimmick, mask, etc.

El Generico signing to WWE is fantastic news. Generico is an amazing talent and entertaining wrestler that will have no problem getting over in the WWE's PG environment. He deserves to get placed on a higher platfum such as the WWE. I'm worried that WWE may not use Generico to his best abilities so here's hoping they don't screw him up with nonsensical booking. If given the change, El Generico will be a top star for sure.
Also, kudos Triple H.

Well this is amazing news for him and WWE, because Generico is genuinely one of the smartest and best wrestlers in the world, he has a gimmick that kids will love but will get over with the 'smarks' because of his talent. It's sad to lose the best wrestler on the indy's, he was probably the only truly dependable guy they had left imo. I'm worried what they'll do with him, but we'll just have to wait and see.
