Default Why are PPV opening singing performances before the welcome?

It's a minor point, but it seems a bit unnatural that you get to see the arena, hear the announcer etc before the video packages, pyro, commentary introduction etc.

They used to do it even back in the classic days sometimes - Royal Rumble 1991. I thought it was because they want to exclude it from international telecasts because patriotic statements will conflict with their international appeal, but I have a feeling many other countries still get it (though all I know is WM 14 in the UK showed it).

Also back in the old days they did sometimes have it after the arena intro (e.g. WM 10, WM 11).
