They could've held a world title throughout the Attitude Era or Pg Era but never during the Ruthless Aggression Era(I'd class that era as 2002-2007) but its up to the individual. They must have been an active competitor during that era. I'd say Christian, William Regal or Kane.

2005 - Christian

Jericho never held a title in this period, although he wasnt at his best then.

You could also make an argument for Rikishi.

Jericho held the title from Vengeance 01 til Wrestlemania 02. You could count that as a reign but he won the title during that transitional period from attitude to ruthless aggression.

FINLAY. Should have got the belt in 06 instead of King Booker imo. Booker was fucking awful, in the ring and on the mic. Hated the King Booker character

. Plus he had series of matches with Lashley and Batista

. Finlay worked great with those guys... Booker didn't.

Christian definitely should have gotten a huge push in 05.

Christian and Kane are definitely up there. And if you count those who never became World Champion at all, I'd say easily Shelton Benjamin. He was on fire in 2004 and early 2005 with his ring work and fans cheered him weekly. But for some dumb reason, they made him a jobber by the end of 05 and he never recovered from that.

Good thing about that era is about everyone who was great and World Champion material got at least a run with it. Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Edge, JBL, Randy Orton and so on.

The whole mama's boy thing ruined Shelton D: A run for the title would've been ideal in late '04 and he could've lost it to Triple H at the Rumble and they could've still given Batista his big push. They also could've put Benjamin in that feud with Cena instead of Jericho and have Benjamin eventually win the title after a series of attempts.
