Luna and He developed the vampire gimmick around this time and with Russo in control, he felt the need for such a gimmick and brought him in Gothic fashioned faction, the brood with Edge and Christian which at a point of time mini-feuded with Ministry and then Hardy Boyz before being relegated to mid-card.

He was then in and out of WWE for most of the time, the main reason being his weight problems according to dirtsheets.

One of the AE upper mid carder who had an interesting gimmick used effectively by Russo for a brief period, how do you see his legacy?

Great gimmick, great character, great entrance, great theme music and The Brood were a great mid card stable but as an actual wrestler or in ring performer Gangrel did nothing for me.

I think him along with many stars in attitude era was just lucky. He was in a time where it was all about gimmicks and storylines, and being in a stable. Imagine if Smackdown or Raw just had guys like Mideon,Viscera,Gangrel,Goodfather and stuff like that, all on their own, all without that attitude era gimmick.

That's exactly what WWE today is missing. Having all those gimmicks and storyline that could make an average or below average star, seem great.
