If you look at the Shield's gimmick - IE> Shield against injustice - you would have to say that nobody was treated worse or more unjustly than ZR in 2012 - from his momentum being cut at the legs to being a sidekick in terrible story-lines.

Would you buy Zack beating someone in the ring - then the Shield surrounding him - looking like a beatdown - then suddenly he kneels, they shave his head, burn his merch and he proclaims that he joins Shield because of the injustices done towards him.

Putting ZR in a group with also address his shortcomings - with Ambrose doing the heavy lifting on promo work.

Obviously the current ZR character will go in the dustbin along with the merch - making way for a new, more serious Ryder.

Or...is making ZR in any way credible a ship that has sailed? Should the Shield only stay at 3 members?

That would require a character turn much like Val Venis when he went Right to Censor. Doubt it happens as Long Island Iced Z still moves merch like mad. Not a fan of the idea.

Though I do expect a heel turn this year, because of his complete burial. As long as he gets rid of all the terrible gimmicks, and not wear that utterly ridiculous one legged tights. The turn needs to make him serious.
