As the title says, I know Kane serves more of a comedy role now but why does he hardly ever use the tombstone? I'm scratching my head thinking of the last time he used it in a match

As I understand, there's a general moratorium on piledrivers - with the exception of a special match here and there. It's a risk management issue.

He used it earlier this year on Zack Ryder. And he also did it in that Brothers of Destruction reunion in Raw 1000. But I guess he doesn't do it in a match since it's more associated with Undertaker nowadays and the chokeslam is enough to put away his opponents.

Piledrivers are on the banned list, but if anyone would be exempt from that it would be Taker and Kane.

Fact is, he doesn't use the tombstone as that is Taker's move and with Taker not being around very often it's best to leave the tombstone as his move so it has more of an impact when you actually see it those couple of times a year.

It's a banned move, but I'm pretty sure Undertaker and Kane were given permission to continue using it after it was banned.

Just wondering but why is it a banned move? Micheals has had the move done on his god knows how many times and he's still fine, I don't get how a move like the tombstone can be banned but the Canadian destroyer is on the okay list?
